Maybe he truly believed a dead cowboy had a brother who wore red clothes and a mask. And somehow a guy drinks beer and bears his boss up at work and is rewarded for it. Pro Wrestling is great but it’s even better when you meet someone who takes it too serious😂

@@onlycommentsonmobilelate 90’s? Not so much. And “publicly broken” doesn’t equate to publicly acknowledged. Vince only admitted it to get around the Athletic Commission. However, he didn’t start PUBLICIZING it til the mid, late 2000’s. And if the judge had been watching for 20 years by the point in question, he’d grown up during the territory days, and kayfabe never died there.

Don't forget that John McCain was also heavily invested in Budweiser which was one of the biggest advertisers in Boxing, his attack on MMA was just as likely to be in response to his portfolio being impacted as the reason he decided to show in public. Moral outrage plays better on the news than crying about your pocketbook. Also, Jeff Blatnik deserves to be revered as the godfather of MMA because he's the one who broke the illusion that MMA was more dangerous than it is worth.

UFC 7 must have been insane in person. Marco Ruas is one of my favorite fighters of all time and was such a savage especially at that event. 🔥

@joeldavis28 the early UFC events were awesome. Tickets were cheap. There were more fighters than fans at the events. That event was a tournament. Marco really put it to Varlens and Cuerton. Remco tapped out when he got mounted.

@@declamatory He actually died 2022 in a Maryland Federal Prison. But he was convicted in 2015 and didn't go to prison until ~2021 due to appeals and rulings challenging how the original conviction went down.

I've been religiously watching MMA On Point for 6 years now, I owe most of my MMA culture to you guys. I kinda misjudged the title of this video, I thought that you were gonna recycle some of the content that you've talked about before, I don't mean it negatively since you've gone in depth so many times and covered every possible aspect of the sport, or so I thought... Yet again you guys managed to share nuggets of information and lore that I've never heard before, the work y'all have been putting in is really really underrated and despite having a million subs and a decent amount of views and recognition, I think that the channel is under appreciated. So yet again thank you guys for the amazing work 🙏

It should be noted that a lot of the legal combatants of UFC/MMA were doing so on behalf of boxing. They didnt want boxing to have competition in the fighting marketplace.
