On the off chance you don't know about Batman NES, you should check it out. I can see a lot of its influence here (or at least a lot of similarities). And the music slaps so freaking hard.

I don't know much about programming on the NES, but this game seems really well-coded. It's really smooth and fast, not much flickering.

This game is like Little Mermaid and Felix the Cat. Smooth, relaxing and quite easy if you don't mess it up. BUT It becomes impossible once you lose powerups in the middle of hard stages when you don't have any weapons or health...
