My dad used to be a security guard. Some years ago when the Pope visited our country he was hired and specifically placed at one of the side-entrances of the building the Pope was waiting in between meetings. At some point two giant Italian men (his description) in black suits approached, demanding to be let through. The two men tried again to intimidate him but my dad didn’t budge, at which point one of the men said “I like you” and the two men pulled out their badges showing that they where in fact from the Popes security force. Later that same day the state security agency of our country moved my dad from those doors to the Popes waiting room, which was jointly secured by guards from both my country and the Papacy. Apparently the state security agent assigned there had annoyed the the Popes security so much that they demanded a replacement, and specifically for that replacement to be my dad. And so it was that a private, unarmed security guard got to guard the Pope when the security police didn’t do a good enough job.

He was never in any danger. He did what he was told regardless of who it was. It was a test of loyalty and he passed. The moment Jimmy grabbed the kid by the face to see the damage it was already done.

He was smart enough to understand a very simple task. Too many are dumb and think a certain person is exempt and then they're hated for it and regarded as incompetent. He can't get mad at you for not letting a guy in if you were told not to, no matter who the guy is, because that doesn't inspire his guys to follow orders, that inspires them to make their own executive decisions which will only cause problems later. If they want you to think, you wouldn't be watching doors.

The kid is Jesse Plemons who is a great actor. He was in Battleships and is married to Kirsten Dunst who he met when they were both in Fargo. So all the people calling him Fat Damon now realise he's with a person far better than they'll ever encounter.

My father was an underwriter for the Travelers Insurance company during the 1980's. His job was to do safety inspections at various insured locations through New England, especially around Boston and through RH and CT. He was responsible for inspecting all of Bulgers locations because 1) He was Irish, with my great great grandfather being a founding member of the Knights of Columbus and 2) He asked no questions and never asked to see anything outside of meeting Bulger or an associate at another location for signatures. And 3) Nono e else would go. My dad said Bluger was a really nice guy, as were his associates, but they would certainly kill you in a second.
