I have 3 daughters from ages 10-13. I am still trying to navigate the internet parenting situation. My wife wanted to take the "shelter" approach, but I know the type of rebellion that can lead to. My focus was to slowly talk to them about everything when the time was appropriate. I want them to get their information from me first...then when exposed to it on the internet they can compare it to the moral compass we have built throughout their life. And there is no way in hell I would let them listen to you guys lol. I've found that being real and open with them, and then trusting them to make the right decisions has been the most beneficial. Discipline or having to talk to them is still necessary, but they are learning to make choices on their own...so mistakes will happen along the way.

Kids just know how to use tech, it’s real cool to watch. I’m a mum, my kids are still too little for this to be remotely interesting but they play minecraft and watch videos about it so they know what memes are, they are going to hear things now and then. Just try to keep things age appropriate, explain things correctly. Keep your kids safe, but don’t try to over shelter them. We all knew those kids in school who were too sheltered...what happened to them after school when we all got jobs and went to college? They went CRAZY!
