The youngest women’s World Elk Calling Champion is a 12-year-old from Oregon

Ella Lees, a 12-year-old from La Grande, is the youngest ever Women’s World Elk Calling Champion, winning the title last month at the competition in Park City, Utah. Put on by the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the event brings the best callers from around the globe, though most hail from the states with the largest elk populations. The top finishers came from Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Montana and Idaho.

That is awesome! I am learning. I hear the elk calls for Colorado a lot. It's good to hear a caller for the western area. Olympics here in Washington. Keep competing!!

I watched her compete at the hunt expo in Salt Lake in February of 2023!! She is amazing to hear in person!!!

Someone taught me an elk call, and, when I tried it, a group of middle aged white guys, wearing purple hats, showed up.
