StoryFire prided itself by trying to be a “KZfaq killer” which lead to its downfall. Jesse/McJuggerNuggets doesn’t have what it takes to make any brand a success. The Psycho Series was his one hit. Ever since then he made failure after failure then made StoryFire which was intended to be a “KZfaq killer” He wanted it to be KZfaq 2.0 instead of the first StoryFire. And that’s what made the platform fail. Hopefully it gets shut down soon as it’s obvious he doesn’t care about it anymore.

I like the part when he talks about a topic over some gameplay. They should really make this a KZfaq category called commentary or sum like that

The thing is its text social interaction was decent it's still more active then it should be but the creators trying to make it KZfaq killed it

Storyfire looked promising. I've actually occasionally gone onto it the last few months, very disappointing that there's nothing on there that I wanna watch, and also disappointing that the userbase has fallen so much, since it seemed like a good alternative to not only youtube, but also twitter.

The thing about this platform though was that everyone who was able to upload on it basically used it as a secondary app to upload videos intended for KZfaq. Barely any original content was made for it and barely any YTers actively encouraged people to use it as they still uploaded to YT constantly and never promoted their channels on StoryFire properly

the real problem was that only verified creators could upload. i don't know how you're supposed to incentivize your platform if the content can be found elsewhere on better established platforms. obviously creators want to make money with the content they spend so much time producing so they have to upload where they're going to reach the most followers in order to get the most views. new creators wouldn't have this incentive since they don't have a following so they may choose to grow their channel exclusively on storyfire, simultaneously growing the platform itself.

Ah, the ole DumpsterFire... So many problems with how the site was ran. First of all, it didn't allow for anyone to upload videos, no you had to be "blessed" by the owners to do that. That alone made me realize it was going to fail. KZfaq succeeded BECAUSE anyone and their mom could upload videos from day 1. Without that critical mass of people who just want to upload videos anywhere but (or in addition to) youtube, you just can't make it a success. Now, I have several ideas how to make a real KZfaq competitor, one that would do to KZfaq what Facebook did to MySpace, but I don't have funding required for this, servers and bandwidth alone would cost at least $2M, not to mention required promotion.

The sad part is that this website acually could have become sucessful if the creator didn’t shut it down.

Based off of how McJuggerNuggets operates, Deck Chair is probably him, and he's trying to revive the platform by making it sound like some big changes are coming, and get all these people to come back and spend money on the platform. He'll then end up telling you it's him down the line once he gets all the money from people too

As an ex storyfire "influencer" that was once championed by their community but was quickly turned into the villian for saying these things almost a year ago, I just want to say, thank you. Thank you for talking about this with your large presence and spreading awareness about their corruption. I fought them tooth and nail myself with some support rallied behind me but was treated like a joke. I was a someone who had a huge part of storyfire behind me and were criticizing them to get them to be better. I would love to tell you my story about my battles with them, trying to get them to be better, only to get chased off and written off as a joke. Like the green goblin said in spiderman 2002, "despite everything you've done for them, eventually they will hate you."

One of the main reasons KZfaq is so popular is because you can create an account in seconds and start uploading videos. Storyfire didn't do that.

I remember when Storyfire first came out, Mcjuggernuggets did this whole thing saying he was leaving KZfaq and was gonna post exclusively to Storyfire and it being big news. Less than a month later he was back on KZfaq.

Jesse never really seemed to put his heart into the app at all. Competing with KZfaq is difficult yes of course, however it seems with his videos being mostly unrealistic and distorting reality from what’s real and not in his life made it hard for his audience to believe anything that happened when he said the platform was initially going down and he had no money left to pour into it. A big mistake I noticed too is that he also mixed the app with a fake story for his KZfaq, example being when his dad “supposedly” destroyed the office. Even a lot of creators surrounding him haven’t being upload any videos hardly like Swift, Rugenus, Tippy, BigBrudda. All in all a risky move that failed to live up to expectations.

It would have been successful if they let anyone create videos on the platform. And the people they allowed were just people who already had followings.

I went on there a while back when I heard that Leafy was uploading there, I was never a fan of him I was mainly just curious to see what he was up to and man it was a depressing website! Its like walking around a map from an online game that's been dead for years.

I used to love McJuggerNuggets. I’d watch his videos EVERYDAY for like 5 years. The Psycho Series was… a masterpiece, if I’m honest. But dude, he’s gone downhill by every fault of his own.

I am a StoryFire user myself Optimus, and I can agree with you. The thing about this platform is I think it really has potential, and it's where I met my friends Kevin, Derek, Luke, Stevoso, everybody. I also wanted to make exclusive PS5 content on there because I think KZfaq is a joke, they fricking guideline striked my inspiration for my KZfaq channel (and also my StoryFire friends) CoryxKenshin. So yeah, but other then that Optimus I thought this was a great video, hope you have a wonderful day or night.

I think deck chair is really McJuggerNuggets. I think that was just something Jessie used to try to get more traffic to the StoryFire page. Jessie is known for doing this on his KZfaq page so it only makes sense he would do this for StoryFire.

I was wondering whatever happened to storyfire

StoryFire was created as a closed-circuit NFT platform, selling the data of its users for the personal profits of Jesse Ridgway. Putting money into promoting the platform/making it good is not profitable long term, as KZfaq is a very very challenging competition. Instead it is significantly easier for Jesse to sit back and hype up this platform as the next big thing, KZfaq 2.0, the KZfaq killer, etc. But in reality, it's just a scheme that Jesse is gonna unplug once he's earned enough money off of it. They won't fix bugs, implement features, or anything beneficial to the platform because it would cost more money and when you're running a scam operation, money is all you care about. StoryFire is NOT a viable platform whatsoever. I used to support Jesse as a creator but due to my experiences regarding very similar subjects, it is beyond obvious that he is just manipulating the public so he can make as much money as possible at the expense of them. The things you're getting into with this platform are not as good as they seem.

I still want a site to rival KZfaq, with rampant demonetization, constant pushing of low effort kids content, horrible treatment of creators, and ads for 18+ content, this platform is abusing its monopoly to bow to the advertisers. The only site that even compares in terms of popularity is Twitch, and that platform is arguably worse.
