I think the saddest part about this is seeing Zoup purging the comment section of the video in question of any comment that questions him or calls him out. Speaks volumes about a person.

When he mentioned iChase as a "culprit" my first reaction was "what?!" Moral of the story is: always see a story from multiple angles before jumping on a conclusion

Zoup used to have really good and entertaining videos including some about being caring and being respectful to others… then he just went totally batshit crazy the last couple of years.

Still no reason to question his parenting skills and worse call him a war criminal. I think that is what's most messed up about this whole thing. I could care less about his CC "skills" or political opinion but there is no reason to call a veteran a war criminal and bash his father and grandfather.

I axed Zoup from the list of people I follow about a year ago. He's always been quite unsettling, attacking othe CC on their opinions like when they criticized WG for the Puerto Rico debacle. I dont really care who's and who's not a CC: I care about the contents, and has been a while since I noticed I didn't liked his.

Yea I had no idea any of this was happening, and on Flambass's stream earlier today the chat was mentioning the "Zoup incident" and I had no idea what it was about. I've watched some of his vids, but I didn't regular his channel. I knew he was a CC and I was kinda like "oh that's sad. He probably was happy about that like Flamu was when he was axed. Probably WG doing the same thing." I forgot about it until now. Thanks for the update. I'm gonna go watch his side and see what he thinks to be better educated on the situation.

Thank you for the clarification about what happened and also that you point out that excercising your freedom of speech means that you have to take responsibility for your words and actions. Acting and speaking without consequences is, in our society, the domain of children, the (very) elderly and the (mentally) ill. i occasionally watched videos he maked. So I also started watching this 'i'm out of the CC program" video. Stopped after 2 minutes, as I didn't want to listen him whine about it. Didn't know why he was axed until now. I am baffled that so often people compare current events (pandemic rules, US voting,...) with one of the most terrifying pieces of modern history and think that the comparison stands and is justified....

He failed to realize that his twitter falls under the rules for CCs especially since it uses his CC name, and only a few weeks ago said he was a CC in his bio. He is/was even actively deleting comments on his YT vid that point this out since it doesn't fit his story. He just wants to deflect blame from breaking CC rules and point to Flamu, iChase and Kingpin while making up more lies. Zoup is just a clown that doesnt know when to stop, hell even someone like Logan Paul apologized.

Been off grid for a few and came back to Zoup vid with no clue what was going on. Luckily YT recommended sent me here but also did some digging of my own to see wtf happened and yep, think you kind of nailed it iChase. Hilariously though went back to Zoups channel to find ANOTHER video trying to put a pin in things...except it was more of the same excuses and "I is victim" but this time with comments turned OFF! Well ok then, one less YT channel to clutter my home feed I suppose 😊

I watched Zoup's early content and thought there was some potential there. It was quickly squandered as his content morphed into that of a shill with an ego problem. I disagreed with a lot of his WOWS content, but I've never thought the man stupid. Perhaps he got tired of not being that highly ranked of a WG lapdog and this is his thinly disguised self-exit from the CC program. You can have your own opinions, but you should probably not try to be subtle about politically charged humor on social media in general and Twitter in particular. Twitter is a sewer of a battleground.

You cannot use any social media platform as a place to vent or grandstand your opinions or to present something you heard or read about as fact. I think the only similar places you have the luxury of being able to make mistakes are places like private discord servers or strictly anonymous platforms like 4chan. His 1st mistake was having his opinionated media in any way linked to any sort of formal media. You can have a personal professional media with all your name, family, friends, business, etc linked, but NO SENSITIVE STUFF on there. Make an unrelated alt for your opinions on sensitive topics so when hell breaks loose, you don't wind up compromising your livelihood. His 2nd mistake was all the reasons his sensitive tweets he got called out for: misquotes, tone deafness, memeing too close to the sun, etc. His 3rd mistake was doubling down. The only thing that separates most of us here from him is just his 1st mistake. Everyone else here has been guilty of his 2nd and 3rd mistakes at one point of another, but the problem is on social media, you are no longer allowed to make mistakes and grow as a person. People will now always hold those tweets as your eternal unchanging opinion and never let it go. Bad for any professional image. That 1st mistake is the only reason any of this matters.

I remember Zoup. I stopped following him after his tone deaf statement on loot crates not that long ago. So am I shocked he remains tone deaf? Nope. He aint a bad person. Summed up well. You didn’t have to make a statement at all IMO. You didn’t lash out like he absolutely did on his video. Just because Wargaming doesn’t pay you with money, if you’re in the CC program you represent them whether you agree or not. You can’t say whatever you want PUBLICLY because at any time you still represent their product. If only the world didn’t have consequences.

The fact that he posted a photo of a Bargainbin Cosplay Hitler and didn't even bother to, ya know, fact check the damn quote, I deem more offensive than the message he tried to push.

I mean you're busy with real world stuff like school and I mean you're not as active on KZfaq as you used to be at least when i came aboard and subbed probably around a year ago now. I imagine that probably translates into how much you put into WoWs currently since you tend to be busy with other things. At least in your gameplay videos you frequently state how it's your first time playing in a few weeks or something lol. I could make the assumption that because of all that you're not the most active CC in the world anymore BUT you do still have Social Media and of course KZfaq here that you are able to come onto and check up on from time to time. No comparison to the holocaust is ever a good one. So that is on Zoup. It's always cringy to compare anything to the holocaust. However, if he had used an example involving the hammer and sickle I think few would have cared as much, I would, but many wouldn't. Swastikas are banned here and there...but the hammer and sickle? Not so much. Even though more people have died under that symbol than the swastika it's not taboo in the same way. Even though it, by the numbers, is significantly worse. Just some food for thought. Anyway, that being said. The world's reaction to covid is not a good one and the consequences of this overreaction will be very costly over the coming years and potentially decades even. So I get why Zoup is concerned. He just fell into the trap of comparing anything to the holocaust. It's not logical in any way to react like politicians around the world have been doing to covid and people have been accepting the restrictions with open arms....it doesn't make any sense. I'd get it if covid had a high mortality rate ofc, trust me, but the fact is that it doesn't. So that people still accept giving their liberties away is troubling to me. Elderly and people in risk groups die. Not healthy people. And since so many old people die there's the issue of death from and with covid that inflates the numbers even further. The average life span here in Sweden is 82 years. The average age of those dead "from" covid is 84. So you don't have to be a genius to realize that lots of people who have died would have died soon anyway and many most likely didn't even die from covid they just happened to have it's in them when they died. That's just the reality of it. And as a consequence younger people with many years left in them are dying due to restrictions. This is concerning to me, and I bet Zoup was trying to convey this in a very poor way. In human years lost the restrictions already overshadow covid by far...and it will not get any better...

Hi iChase, I’ve always been a big fan of your KZfaq posts, and constantly send noobie WoWS Redditors to your “how to” playlists. I absolutely agree that Zoup dug his own Internet grave. Not a big fan though that you felt you needed to chime in. The popcorn posts were priceless and perfect, I.e., not piling on, and Flamu had it well under control pointing out Zoup’s lack of discretion. I do question the “need” you felt to post a “summary” on Twitter, however, and for this vid (even though, like a sucker, I did just watch this clip). I know you’ve been hard at work/school, so when I heard that iChase had chimed in too, I have to admit, I would have rather seen actual WoWS content, after such long pauses of content, versus jumping into a Twitter war. It's very common for a man who shoots himself in the foot to blame someone who just watched him shoot himself in said foot.

It was wrong for Flamu to link Zoup's non-Wargaming tweets to Wargaming. Zoup's statements-right or wrong-had nothing to do with the game, were not promoted in any connection with the game, and yet Flamu fell over himself to draw a connection. Why? Because Flamu is sour about his own relationship with Wargaming. ‘They canceled me for my game-related commentary, why haven’t they canceled Zoup for his non-game-related commentary?” Let’s make sure we note that Zoup, in addition to being criticized for his tweets, also received criticism for serving in the Army, for serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, for not serving directly on the front lines of the insurgent battles as an infantryman, for not deserting from the Army, for the Abu Ghraib prison scandal, and for generally being a member of the center-right of American politics with a Twitter account. Zoup received all these condemnations contemporaneous with Flaumu’s canceling effort. They were, in effect, one and the same. The game has traditionally been politics-free. But as someone who in my professional career has taken unpopular and trenchant political and legal positions and been publicly slimed for it, I am angered by Zoup’s mistreatment here. Zoup was attacked for both what he tweeted *and* his identity as an American war veteran. Zoup is ignorant which is where his problem is. He believes he can do whatever he wants, say what he wants and take no responsibility for the content said when he crosses the line and doesn't understand (ignorance) why it's wrong.

Flamu dug his own grave to be honest. I will side with Zoup here though. his comparisons are rather on the mark for ongoing societal actions that are going on.

Yeah we've seen this kind of song and dance before. You start comparing things to nazi germany that have no business being compared to nazi germany and you get booted out of communities. For good freaking reason, nobody wants to be associated with anything having to do with the holocaust. Especially considering the fact that Wargaming features WWII german military vehicles in three of their games... It makes sense that they want to keep everything to do with the that entire terrible facet of history as far away from them and their image as possible. Which is a good thing. I really don't see how Zoup didn't see this coming. I would've grabbed the popcorn, too. It's sad to watch, but sometimes there's nothing else you can do while someone sets fire to their own ship and sinks it. No pun intended.

It is much better without him. Several times, the rest of the CCs were pointing when WG did some mistakes, but he was absolutely not-logically defending WG using some cheap arguments. Also, he was advocating mistakes in game, like pushing all in one place, lack of cross fire, lack of map control. He was failing to recognize them. So through some of his videos he has actually lowering the quality of the playerbase watching him. So absolutely no regrets from my side for him losing the CC, really.

No comments were made on wargaming account. Those terms do not state anything about other accounts. And again, he said nothing out of line about vaccines. This is another example of people being intolerant of different ideas and trying to silence them. Why don't you show his direct comments on vaccines? All you are showing is his response to being attacked for daring to question.

I think Zoup is far from being pure evil. I just think he has some pointed opinions and a tragically short Twitter temper. His problem was not seeing that people will judge you for how you say something more than what you meant to say. It's a shame all around.

CC wars : the extinction wars

It’s to bad. I liked his “roll with the changes” attitude about games changes like DE, CV rework, and up coming subs. I had already unsubbed from other CCs who to a more alarmist approach, for more clicks IMO. But that level headedness has its limits I guess. Anyone going round spreading that anti vax BS gets no support from me. None. He probably also thinks Trump is still his CinC. Those two beliefs tend to overlap. I wish the military would crack down on “not grounded in reality” public statements like WG did.

I didn't get very far into zoup's victim complex video before going to find what exactly he said to get booted. Then proceeded to unfollow him. He crossed the line so many ways. I genuinely don't follow Twitter crap and had I seen his Twitter id have unfollowed him a while ago.

Removal of a CC from a money grabbing Russian company that has an obscure game with a small and shrinking player base? At any one time some woman in a hot tub has 6x times the amount of viewers than the top streamers for this game could ever hope for on twitch. So my point is, does anyone really care?

This is unfortunately a lose-lose situation for everyone. Personally I don’t agree with Zoup’s opinion on Covid and I am with ichase for calling him out on that; on the other hand, I can empathize with Zoup’s rationale for posting it, but I think he was expecting a drastically different response to his initial twitter post than what actually happened. It’s sad that he blatantly violated the rules and got kicked in such a bitter way, but it is what it is.

Thanks for making this. I watched his version the other day with no context. To me it seemed he had made a mistake and was a bit salty about it. It’s nice to see another side of the story, which for me confirms he was in the wrong and was justifiably removed as a CC.

Whatever you think about, the statements Zoup made. In my opinion, he sabotaged himself by not properly researching quotes and so on... For example, he is right about the similarity between the Quote (not from H*****) and the takeaway of rights in Germany. Please don't think, I am arguing for this. There are similarities, but the situation is definitely not the same! If he really wanted to help the situation, he could've made a video about his fears and thoughts and explained it properly (which is his right as a person).
