The song is really good, the only "bad" thing is the mv. It's kinda boring and doesn't show their unity as a group but represents them as soloists. BUT that doesn't mean that the song isn't good! The girls worked really hard to debut and obviously the mv making isn't something they can control at all. People shouldn't be so harsh towards them. It's still their debut and their first mv. They'll improve. The song is good, really good. Personally I think it's a bop ^^.

I’m honestly so pissed. They totally did the group dirty with this. Who the heck even passed this editing?? It looks like a shitty fanmade MV instead of a legitimate one. I honestly think the shots by themselves aren’t bad but the flashing lights, fuzzy filter, and rapid cuts are dragging this to filth. This is such a talented group and it’s a shame that they get this treatment. Even the dance performance wasn’t as great as it could be because they only had TWO days of practice. 🤦‍♀️ *EDIT:* I’ve finished watching the MV and I still have no idea what kind of concept the directors are going for. Again, poor planning.

since this is debut there’s always mistakes. i hope next comeback they can improve. this MV was all over the place and it felt like 12 soloists. hopefully next comeback they can go with a more stable concept and have them actually as a group. and especially have a visually appealing thumbnail since thumbnails draw more attention.

i agree! the whole direction is messed up... - the mv is low budgeted : the sets just scream CHEAP and empty - poorly edited : very messy, too much solo shots and not enough group shot - the costumes weren't able to bring them together (lack of coordination and some did not fit the concept of the song) though the song is quite a good song actually (maybe not enough for a debut song but it's still a pretty good song), the whole direction did not help the group to bring them more together. too many mistakes and too low quality for such a long wait. though i kinda expected this bc during this three whole months, i feel like the girls were busy shooting CFs. do they even have enough time to prepare and polish this debut? added to that this such messy and low quality production ...

Now I realized what's the wrong with the MV lol. They seem like doing a solo shoot, and it just showing their face. At least have them singing while dancing in the group not solo. Also make them have interaction with each other, I don't know maybe it just want to show their solo at first and show other things later. But yeah it totally feel like watching 9 soloist in 1 group n MV. Also maybe should add something more interesting like them acting lil bit or whatever. It just feels boring having them looking solo like that

MY OPINION: Each of the member’s individuals talents and characters are so magnificently great that this mv just looks like they’re competing with one another, leading to a “hot” mess. There’s not much chemistry or teamwork, I wish their their next mv will look like they will all complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses rather than looking like princesses fighting to win the queen’s crown. This is not their fault but their entertainment management and producer!! If this isn’t solved in the future I can quickly see this group disbanding and going off in separate ways because right now it looks like they are better off with their own debuts.

I was trying to figure out why sphinx and not me seemed off, and you're comment put my thoughts into words exactly. When I was watching the show I wanted almost of all of these girls to debut but now when I see them together, It's kind of awkward and on top of each other. Their personalities are so different and strong that it doesn't blend very well...I hope they can get better music/choreo that works for them...without the culture appropriation.

In China they are achieving many successes that dissolving I think is impossible right now, the only thing that failed them a bit was the world premiere with such a poor MV.

if you’re going to debut a group: -give them a decently budgeted video, not a ton of editing. -have a eye catching thumbnail, not a far away blank white background shot -make the song title something catchy, not “sphinx” -production should be not forgettable and have a ring that makes people want to listen more -choreography that’s out of the ordinary land eye catching These are all beautiful talented girls. In my opinion, this debut was not well on the company’s part. debuts are arguably a very important part in groups careers and if it doesn’t hit a good mark it may be harder to gain exposure in the future

Literally the girls are so great and they’ve shown it throughout the whole show. Even when having 3 days to practice with unfamiliar ppl they were able to still have a harmonious stage the company did they so dirty with a low budget and bad debut. Like they weren’t living up to expectation on there parts.How are u gonna have an idol show group where 100 sm girls sign up just for a chance of exposure and debuting in a sub group but fail on the final rewards part ?

I think the song is incredible. It’s the mv that has problems. But these nine amazing girls can't do anything over the mv. It's out of their hands. And many are asking that what does this song mean. I wish you would watch their interviews they said that they are not like other girl groups around them. The song was explaining THE9.And it makes sense cause It's their first MV.

I'm black and I'd prefer it if people who aren't black didn't where braids, there are many reasons why black people don't like when other races wear braids and dreads. But it is obviously not the girl's fault

@@missrose2528 I'm not black but I have a short question :) What if people wear braids as cultural appreciation? I've seen a lot of poc saying that as long as they wear the braids as appreciation it is fine but if they wear it as a costume to mock the culture then that's a problem. It still doesn't sit right with me bc I feel like the braids should just be left for poc. I hope you don't get offended :)
