That's the best option for a 2 person tree standing tent I've seen. Here are some options of quality gear that won't break the bank or back. Durston X-mid 1 or 2 person tent, Durston Kakwa 55 pack, Cascade Mtn. Tech trekking poles, Decathalon puffy jacket, NearZero poncho [also covers pack], Gerber Dime multi tool, cook system [Toaks pot and lid, BRS 3000 stove, X-cup, lighter and a bandana], These items come in almost 5 pounds lighter and $680 less than your items. I'm 74 and on a budget [SS]. There are many more items like this out there that won't break the bank but you can be confident in and will keep you comfortable on the trail. Don't skimp on a good sleep system and must have a Garmin or life system. Sorry. Don't mean to hijack your video. Just trying to help others like me. Hope you have a great trip,

I bought the copper spur tent because of you two, and WOW this thing is a beast. Stayed dry after it rained for 18 hours straight in the San Juans this weekend!! The footprint is a must for sure!

For my tent, I had the same issue with the weird packed shape. I bought a 20L compression bag from osprey and it works so well to make the tent a more manageable thing to pack.

Great video. The audio doesn’t bother me. Awesome you both love hiking together. I would recommend some sort of pack liner to keep your clothes protected. Have a great hike

Thanks for the helpful video, guys. Nice dance heading down Buckskin Pass towards Snowmass on the Four Pass Loop - such an epic trip! Camped at Crater Lake a few days ago and day hiked up Buckskin. Still a ton of snow the last half mile!

Thank you! We loved that trip, it was SO beautiful, we actually have a video about that one! Fortunately we did not have that much snow.

..Good looking packs ,, decent shoulder and hip belt padding ,,too many others are reduced to nothing but a strap .. Love either center zip or clamshell front opening ,, I think it's much easier to pack tight and still get what you need without unpacking everything...
@the_adventureaddicts
@the_adventureaddicts Ай бұрын
Thank you! We have been really happy with how comfy they are and the clamshell makes access so much easier when we are trailside and only need one thing from the pack

I hope you find those quilts warm enough - the consensus seems to be 30F is the limit rating. I would only be OK down to 40F in an EE 30F but could make it down to 30F wearing all my layers (including my puffy). Love the Copper Spur! I got the UL3 at a crazy discount for car camping with the Mrs! If you subtract the trekking poles - unless those mostly stay in your pack, they are counted with the rest of your worn weight - your base weights will both be 1lb lighter!
@the_adventureaddicts

I (Kelby) run quite warm and after using the quilt found it too warm at 40 degrees but that is just my experience, Zoe was quite comfy in hers. Fortunately those are our summers "bags" and we own warmer ones as well. That's good to know about the trekking poles! Minus 1 lb each! Thanks!

What width are your pads? Wondering if two 25" fit. From the measurements, it looks like they would at the top, but not by the feet, haha.

.. good loadout ,, some things come and go depending on trip ,, I suggest make a printed gear list and keep in gear tote or wall at shelves ,, unpack everything and clean needed gear before putting on shelf... don't have to rely on last trip memory ... maybe include a small note pad and pencil to make adjustments on trail ,, to add or delete ..

.. Not a fan of the fuel transfer device ,, always carry ,2, 4 oz canisters ,, use one until empty the change to full one ,, puncture and dispose of empty when home,, NEVER have partially filled laying around .. on long trips , add a twig stove to your kit , can save fuel and good to have redundancy, especially in colder seasons ... and in cold months at altitude some canisters don't work properly ..besides , who doesn't like fire ..
@the_adventureaddicts
@the_adventureaddicts Ай бұрын
The fuel transfer device is tricky and definitely took some learning! In the winter we use the MSR whisperlite and MSR SuperFuel.

Where in your bags do you store the poo drybag while you're on your trip, after it has stuff in it?
@the_adventureaddicts
@the_adventureaddicts Ай бұрын
A lot of times we will actually clip it to the outside of the pack so there can be no catastrophes inside and it won't make the inside smell.

What size compression sack do you typically find works best for sleeping bags vs the quilts?
@the_adventureaddicts
@the_adventureaddicts Ай бұрын
The ones in the video are 8 liters. We are able to compress the quilts all the way in this bag and we have used it for our 15 degree bags. Good size that works for both. A 0 degree bag might need a slightly larger stuff sack like the 13 liter size of our stuff sack

Is the bear danger in your country? The black bear I mean is there or? I'm in Slovakia and we have also bears. And I think they are also danger but it sounds like people there in US really care about it 🤔. Thank you 🤗

With the black bears here we are more concerned about our food, they don't typically want anything to do with humans. If we are in areas with grizzly bears then it is more dangerous and we carry bear spray
