I am a 38 yr old black female who lives in the ghetto city of East Cleveland Ohio and I love the violin. I don't know how to play, have never played, however; I FELL IN LOVE with the way this man plays my favorite instrument even though I don't know how to play and have never played. When I heard the musical score for Schindler's List I had to find out who was playing that violin. The way Mr. Perlman plays is wonderfully maddening. I have his CD Itzhak Perlman's Greatest Hits and this song is track number 6 ( I love ALL the tracks, especially 4, 5, and 6). It's about time a video was shown showing him playing this song. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! Anybody can rap, not everyone has a TALENT. He has beautifully mastered how to play-not the violin strings-but my heart strings, THAT IS SKILL. The CD I have belongs to the Windermere Public LIbrary and I refuse to bring it back because I love it so. I just keep paying the late fees, o well, so be it. I love it, I wish I could meet him.
@TheAbnerCoutinho10 жыл бұрын
You could actually save the the money you will pay as late fees and buy a CD of your own. I think this album it's not expensive at all, if you are willing to buy it.

He is a truly artisan . As far as Introduction & Rondo Capricious by Saint-Saens , his performance is absolutely great . Every single note is flawless . Not only was he in a hurry but also he never expressed anything exaggeratedly. Other musicians tend to play in way they make sounds edgy or sharp. I like the piece by Itzhak Perlman .

+Kevin McKie I couldn't agree with you more. Some of the grimacing you see from others (Joshua Bell, Lang Lang) is a bit over the top. But Perlman is absolutely OK with his acial expressions - the reflect the beauty of his artistic soul and I find the whole package wonderful. But, why all this talk? The book on Itzakh Perlaman has been written and is on all the library shelves - one of the greatest violinists, perhaps the greatest, of the second half of the 20th century.

@dash5953 жыл бұрын
sarah lee*0* Do you really believe what you just said? You think you can be an amazing violinist like Perlman without practicing and just by being talented? His talent was achieved by his fierce history of violin playing and performing. How dare you say that his talent wasn’t achieved by the overwhelming time he put into practicing the violin
@danishdanial55963 жыл бұрын
@@dash595 tbh saying all of that he has acheived was because of talent sounds like a terrible insult. To be able to play like him, you need a combination of talent and practise. How far can one even go without practise? Yeah, not much. If you think that being talented is enough to be like Itzhak, then you're dead wrong.

I played fiddle five decades performing and recording w orchestras and rock, country, folk, bluegrass groups. But in the grand scheme of things I was a "utility" player, and had a lot of fun. There are so many levels to all this. (sigh) The great thing I finally realized --- you could play and practice for hundreds of years, and never exhaust all the possibilities, always discovering haunting and intoxicating melodies and rhythms and harmonies. There are so many ways to spend your time, and so many astounding people to inspire you along the way! A great time to be alive.
