Not one bad album in the bunch! Add to that every single one was different (never doing the same thing twice) and every album was solid from start to finish. More great songs on one album than some bands had on their Greatest Hits releases. They are Rock Royalty!! Never a band had each and every member be as important as the next, as was proven when Bonzo passed. Each member so good they were irreplaceable and each brought something to the table that made Zeppelin. Alone each a great Musician, together undeniable, they were Magic!

Zeppelin is arguably the best rock band in history, however a lot of their music was a duplicate, a cover or “sampled” from the original American blues masters that they idolized. That does not detract from the sheer genius of their collective musical talent, but let’s give credit where credit is due. @@kikivon3501 This is highly debatable. They did covers they also payed homage using a line here or there from another song to a certain artist. Thing is most of it is a stretch. Especially when Page is said to have ripped himself off from his time with the Yardbirds. Most of what is takes about pertains to mostly the first album and a couple of songs in the second. After that they redid a couple more total on their next couple of albums. After Zep untitled you don't hear of it. So saying most of their songs are copies is highly unfair. Many bands including Hendrix, SRV, the Stones all did similar. What wasn't right is in the beginning not giving credit to the musicians that wrote original work. That was based on record companies being greedy back in the day and hoping they wouldn't get sued and taking a risk if they did ,would make much more than the payout would be. That changed in the late 70s and artists become more protected. It will always be a debate, yes the "borrowed" the the extent has been greatly exaggerated. Saw one list where it points to all Zep originals to non originals. It's a joke and quite a stretch in spots. Also they stop the comparison after Zep's fourth album. Even then original content still far outweighed the rest. But adding the next four albums to the equation would have made it look silly as far as numbers go. Even so, not one song they copied is close to the original. Not like most who redo a song and you recognize it right away. Or think it's the same with a different singer. They made every one their own.

In my opinion Physical Graffiti is the best Zeppelin album(s) ever made with House's of The Holy and Zeppelin 4 being neck and neck for next best,it's just that The Rain Song and No Quarter does it for me every time 45 years after buying the album!! I just don't think Zep 4 can top House's of the Holy!!!!! Not to mention on Physical Graf. you have ... in my time of dying, 10 years gone , sick again,in the light and Kashmir, plus so much more. I just can't give my vote to zep 4

LOL, you may know this, but there's a Whole Foods store there now! ALSO: They have a plaque in front of the store honoring the site as being--also in 1977--where Elvis's last concert was. (June 26th). Woulda LOVED to have seen Elvis--period! But Zeppelin even moreso! Alas, I was just a casual Zep fan in 8th grade/77 when they came to the Capitol Center near DC. By '80 I was a confirmed fanatic, YEARNING for their next tour. But...

@@SopranoPizzaJMFNJ I actually did record the September 1970 show, however it was the concert that had a pretty famous bootleg “Live on Blueberry Hill”. That quality is much better that me deteriorated cassettes. That was also the only time I saw them when they played less than 2 1/2 hours (about 2:15). There’s a great medley of Communication Breakdown that show which includes Good Times Bad Times, For What it’s Worth and I Saw Her Standing There.

VERY Blessed! Congrats! And you did something even Jimmy Page never did--saw Hendrix. I recall him saying in an interview that that was one of his huge regrets, that he was always meaning to see Jimi play, since he was , to quote Page after his death "the best guitarist any of us ever had," but kept putting it off for being so busy himself with Zeppelin. Glad YOU got to see all those wondrous artists!

@@joescott8877 I didn't know that Page never got to see Hendrix. I know that Stevie Ray Vaughan never saw him & that's a shame being as Jimi was his main inspiration. When I saw Hendrix I stood with my arms propped on the edge of the stage, taking photos of him (in those days stages weren't as high as they are now & no barriers in front). After his encore he reached down to give me his guitar pick. Just as our hands touched, a big burly guy jostled me aside & grabbed the pick. I was a little 5'2" 16 year old & he would've knocked me down if not for the crowd pressed against us & around us. It still makes me furious to think about it! I'd love to still have that pick. But hey, at least I've got my pics stored away somewhere up in my loft. Thanks, Joe, for such a nice & interesting reply! Made me smile. 💙☮🌿

I'd get back from a bar or something, and prolly annoyed the f outta my dormmate by having the music bleed thru the phones while I'd fill the room with my cig smoke, lol! What an inconsiderate little a-hole I was, but back in the early 80's, few peeps even thought of asking others NOT to smoke!
