I finally completed my build yesterday. 13:1 SHS gears, shs high torque 16tpa, btc chimera mk2, m110 spring, and then everything else is lonex. Around 30ish rps at 380fps with a .2, Trigger response is ridiculous, literally a polarstar or very very close to it. Using a 11.1v 4500mah 30c

Interesting video. Thanks for the info. I recently built my Lonex gun gearbox again using an ASCU2 trigger unit/FET and because I use the Lonex A1 motor, I got to delete the anti-reversal latch. The gearbox sounds so much better now! Love it. I also combined a SPEED trigger lever with the ASCU2 FET, low resistance wiring and a set of 16:1 gears and the gun it so fun to shoot now! Yeah I could trade out some of the parts and increase the trigger response a bit, but I'm done spending money on that gun and honestly, its a lot of fun to shoot! I think the biggest factor in gaining trigger response is the MOSFET you use. Not all FETs are the same. The FETs that also include the micro-switches that take the place of the horrid, old school trigger contacts are the best. The old, arching trigger contacts are the worst part of any AEG. They always fail. And if you play a lot of MILSIM type games like I do where full-auto is only for SAWs, then having a micro-switch trigger system will save you a lot of pain and broken guns. I have two guns now with the micro-switch systems. Both are dreams to shoot.

My main used to be a valken pdw allow. First airsoft gun ever. Ran 11.1 in it for 3 months cuz they said I could. It broke one day at the field, didn't touch it for MONTHS. Eventually decided I'm gonna fix my gun since I couldn't afford a new one at that time. And your videos basically got me where I'm at almost a year later. Taking it apart I saw the bearing on the bevel was missing balls and the piston head, air nozzle and tappet plate were SHATTERED. 18/1, delayed chip, bushings, reshimmed, regreased, 16awg rewire with a gate nanohard mosfet, micro switch, new piston head and new air nozzle. On a 7.4 (will never run a 11.1 again) I achieve 16 rps at 384-389fps. And I mean if I shoot thru my chrono 30 times the only two number that show up are 384 and 389. It just jumps back and forth between those two numbers and it blows my mind! My indoor spring was 357.5 LITTERALY 15 shots in a row. No deviations. THANK YOU FOR YOUR KNOWLEDGE!!!! Also it was a random kwa motor I pulled from a broken gun and it turns out they run 45-60 dollars and it's a high torque! Makes sense. I have like damn near the same set up in my indoor gun, weaker spring but has the ics 3000 and it only gets 13rps.

What if you used a high rpm motor like a 16 - 22 tpa motor with precocking? Would it take a noticeable amount of time for the motor to spin up if it's already precocked? Seems like you could get a higher rps with the same gears as long as you're using precocking and a relatively lower tpa motor

I've got a build that I'm pretty happy with, and it is not an angled build at all, just a straight up high performance build that gives me lightning response (faster than 2012 Systemas) on a 2mm trigger pull (it's like clicking a mouse). 38 bps RoF at 440 FPS on an 11.1V, 3000mAh, 40C LiPo battery. It's essentially this: Chimera FET 12:1 Gear Ratio (SHS) Dream Army Ultra Torque motor Shimmed trigger (the Chimera FET uses a micro switch button) 11.1V, 40C LiPo Overall reinforced components, hours of shimming and a very, very, very airtight cylinder/piston/nozzle, cylinder ported to the barrel volume + 25%. Rifle itself is a VFC 416, not that it matters... I use it exclusively for semi-auto shooting since I hate players who hose away bbs and end up hitting someone 50 times in the face, but the RoF is still there for punishment ;)

Loved your video man, it was pretty informative! I do have a few questions though. What would the torquiest stock (non-frankentorque) motor you would reccomend TPA wise that could handle a Prometheus M170 spring with relative ease? I'm currently working on a dmr build and want to make sure I get a motor that is strong enough, keep in mind the motor will be paired with either 100:200 or 100:300 ratio torque gears and a high discharge 11.1 lipo. Also, is there any way you would possibly be willing to make and sell a short type 32 TPA Frankentorque motor for the right price? I appreciate the help and hope you will see this comment.
@hakont.4960
@hakont.4960 9 жыл бұрын
Garrett Pitts No need for high torque gears with a high tpa neo motor. A 32TPA "frankentorque" with a strong neo can will pull an M170 spring on high speed gears with excellent trigger response when paired with a high output, high voltage li-po. I'd actually go with a 14.8 volt li-po to get maximum trigger response, you could go as high as 18:1 gear ratio and still get good trigger response and a low current drain.

Trigger response is vastly under-rated by the air soft world. We call this lock time in tactical bolt action rifles...and the best rifles now have lock times of around 1 millisecond....Compare that the time it takes for the mechanicals to active and send the bb is a stock air soft rifle! What 1/2 second? lol This is why so many airsoft snipers use bolt (spring) actions. Yes they are a little more accurate, but more important is being able to send the BB at the exact microsecond the sight crosses the target. Any improvement here is welcome! The quality and the consistency of the trigger break are still none existent in air soft...A clean and consistent break is fundamental to marksmanship in that is creates solid and repeatable muscle memory. Muscle memory is what allows us to quickly and accurately engage a target without thought. Any improvement here creates a more consistent, more accurate, rifleman....Gun be damned, the nut behind the trigger is always the decisive element....Food for thought!
@DaveSmith-cp5kj
@DaveSmith-cp5kj 6 жыл бұрын
I would say closer to 1/8 a second but yeah the lockup time for airsoft guns can be annoying. One reason why I use mostly gas blowbacks. I don't use many rounds per game so the $50 magazines aren't that big of a deal. That said, good marksmanship would be able to make good hits even with a poor lockup. Unlike a firearm, there is no recoil with an AEG. On an open bolt SMG or LMG the lockup is similar to an AEG but upon dropping the bolt the gun is bounced upward slightly. With an AEG there is no movement imparted by the gun so if your POA stays true, your POI will be precise.

Your assumption that higher TPA motors yield proportionally faster trigger response is false. There is a point that more torque is slower on semi. If you do some research on Airsoft Mechanics, youd find that the fastest trigger response is achieved when your gun almost double shoots (precocks after one shot). If you keep increaseing the torque, you will get less and less overspin becuase the motor RPM is slowing down. I built a 32 tpa motor with neodymium magnets and it was SLOW, i would need a DSG to get the same trigger response i have now. I shot my AEG along side your 7.4, 11.1 and 14.8v and my trigger response with a 7.4 was about the same maybe a bit faster, my 11.1 was faster, and when you used the 14.8v it was exactly what mine was with an 11.v 50c 3.3 Amp. Build list: shs 15t m110 spring 18.72 to 1 gears ZCI 22 tpa (actually 19 tpa) apex python mosfet (16 gauge wire) I almost get double shots on semi with an 11.1 (never do though), so it precocks at least halfway with an 11.1), can't get much faster than that. I spent $30 for the ZCI hightorque, and 34 for the apex python, maybe $20 for the 11.1, and tuned everything perfectly. rate of fire with 11.1 is 25 rps.

Some people like myself highly dislike any overspin as it feels inconsistent and just weird. Pre-cocking with a mosfet is fine because it is the same every trigger pull but anything else is a bit crappy for me..

Reason why I don't like overspin is because it causes stress on the piston and pretty much everything

hey I have a question I'm going to be getting the g&g top tech tr4.mod blow back gun I want to upgrade the motor to a higher torque and high rpm one so I can use a higher battery volts like 11.1 would I have to change anything else like gears anything like that I heard some one say for the gun I'm getting not to go higher than 9.6 or 9.1 basically the battery they recommend not sure volts off the top of my head but my feld I play at can't go higher than 400 fps I'm trying to get the gun to shoot as close to 400 as possible it's 380- 400 is what it's capable of most of the time it's shooting around 380-375 on videos I've seen of it but I want to get as close to 400 with a good triger response as well as a longer lasting more powerful battery and motor so I can have a faster snap and a better feel to the blow back. so motor and battery is what I will be doing will that help me achieve what I'm trying to do and sorry for the long book I'm new to this and I'm only learning from what I'm watching on KZfaq and I don't know anybody that plays Airsoft so I'm just trying to ask certain people I come around videos that I think know what they're doing. to help me do what I'm trying to do that's best for my gun thanks I appreciate it.

AFAIK G&G Top Tech motors have neodymium magnets, relatively weak neodymium magnets, but still a lot stronger than ferrous magnets. The gears are also decent quality, so you just really need to re-shim the gears, correct AOE, disable the blowback and rewire the gun with a mosfet and Deans or XT60 contact. Do this and you can run an 11.1V li-po without issues. Rediusing the gearbox shell is also a good idea, and you can replace the piston with one with steel teeth if you're worried about the piston breaking.

do you think a g&p m180 satan motor or a tienly gt45000 motor will give the same trigger response with a siegetek 10:1 gearset???

Dam!! aeg's can get technical! that's one of the things about stock aeg's that trigger response. my ics m4 is so slow compared to my ghk m4 gbbr. I know we should not compare the two but firing a gas rifle feels much better than electric gun. nice video dude.

+BARRY WATTS GBBR's can be great fun, I test fired a cheap GBBR G36 once, seemed like fun gun. It's a shame they're nearly useless in cold weather and not nearly as reliable as an AEG or electronic HPA gun. Some stock AEG's have decent trigger response, high end CYMA AEG's, Krytac, G&G Top Tech to mention some have neodymium motors and will have a quite decent trigger response with a good battery.

charly wakamatzu the SAI GRY uses a g&p gearbox. You can do anything he listed here. The internals aren't so much "good" as upgradeable. If you look at brill armoury's KZfaq channel he has a budget 30rps build/parts list which you could use to turn your gun into a beast, and there are a few other upgrades you can do down the line to make it even better.

Hi AirsoftTech - I have the Krytac CRB but have been a little disappointed with its performance, a low 320 fps even with m120 spring, not the best trigger response and the range is pretty poor, do you have any suggestions for improvements? I saw you had a Krytac video so would like to see your take on it. Thanks :D !

Thinking of doing a trigger response build, sense I already have a microswitch, will a mosfet improve trigger response at all?
@maxmcmillan4984
@maxmcmillan4984 5 жыл бұрын
Yes, mosfets will allow you to use up to 17v batteries depending, and will regulate the energy going through the gun, in turn increasing the trigger response.

I don't think you really need a 32 tpa motor for something like this. I got a gun with just as good trigger response as your gun (but not with precocking) with 12:1 shs gears and a Matrix Godzilla 5000 motor.
