Neji Hyūga was a shinobi of Konohagakure's Hyūga clan. Though a prodigy even by the Hyūga's standards, Neji was a member of the clan's branch house; no matter how skilled he became, he would always be in service to the Hyūga's main house, a fact that convinced him fate was predetermined. After experiencing Naruto Uzumaki's refusal to be limited by such an ideology, Neji realised his fate was what he chose it to be, and as a member of Team Guy he sought the strength necessary to make the future he wanted for his family and friends, and ultimately sacrificed his life to protect the very same person who taught him about the freedom of one's choice of fate, Naruto.

damn, talk about not understanding a character. Neji WAS a slave in early part 1, but not because he was meant to be one, but because he thought he HAD to be one, according to the past in which he thinks his father died for the sake of the main family. What you don't notice is that Neji died, yes, protecting Hinata, a member of the main family, but not because he HAD to, but because he WANTED to. He chose to die that way, not forced, finally understanding his father's decision.

Sadly, that's wrong. Naruto was a genin until he became hokage. Neji was the strongest when he was introduced though.

Absolutely not, Neji's character growth is literally about his vision about destiny and shit be wrong after confronting Naruto and, after, discovering the truth behind his twisted past. Neji didn't die because he was destined to protect Hinata, but because he chose to, if y'all could just grasp this and not just trhowing superficial arguments you would understand more of him and his depth as a character.

I was pissed that not only did Neji die, but they didn't even give him a legendary fight to the end like when Jiraya died fighting Pain or the 3rd Hokage fighting Orochimaru. Even Asuma dying after fighting Hidan and Kakuzu was done better than Neji. Then when you consider the fact that Neji had the Byakugan, the 8 trigrams 64 palms, rotation, etc and died because of a couple sharp sticks piercing his back as he stands, it just becomes a lot sadder. They wanted to rush the War arc and couldn't give Neji a proper fight scene before his ultimate sacrifice. Sad...

I'm not even hurt by the fact that Neji lost to the Ninetails because that and the Kidomaru fight was epic but his death plot was so so weak. I mean the whole reason I was rooting for Naruto to become Hokage was so Neji could be head of the Hyuga

I loved the video! Neji was always one of my favorite characters. An addition to the Legacy part of the video is that Naruto and Hinata's son, Boruto is named after him. "Boruto" is the Japanese pronunciation of the English word "Bolt" while "Neji" means "Screw".

I don’t know why he had to jump in front of the tree spikes. Couldn’t he just use the 8-Trigrams Rotation to deflect them? Or even the Revolving Heaven. His clan had several techniques devoted to deflecting projectiles!

@@k-ks2tc Yeah. I was pissed that not only did Neji die, but they didn't even give him a legendary fight to the end like when Jiraya died fighting Pain or the 3rd Hokage fighting Orochimaru. Even Asuma dying after fighting Hidan and Kakuzu was done better than Neji. Then when you consider the fact that Neji had the Byakugan, the 8 trigrams 64 palms, rotation, etc and died because of a couple sharp sticks piercing his back as he stands, it just becomes a lot sadder. They wanted to rush the War arc and couldn't give Neji a proper fight scene before his ultimate sacrifice. Sad...
