The entire Naruto series has spanned fifteen full years. And when it finally ended, fans were so upset that Kishimoto-sensei said “Here! Have this!” and gave us Boruto. Love it or hate it… or love it (you have no choice), Boruto continues on. But for such a fresh series, a lot of fans might wonder what built up to the Boruto series? “What’s the history? Bit of a correction, Tobirama did not make Hashirama sell the tailed beasts, causing the war. Hashirama wanted to give them away for free to all the other nations, he was hopelessly idealistic. Tobirama said that it they were going to be giving away the beasts, they had to at least sell them to help fund Konoha’s development

As a diehard Naruto fan who watched all 720Naruto(+200 something Boruto eps +14-ish Naruto movies) multiple times. Yea this is actually a pretty good summary that leaves a WHOLE lot of details blank so its almost like the perfect way to start watching Naruto.

@@TotallyNotGachaAddict You watched every episode? well that's a bit much I'd say, but I don't like animation though I'm a bit confused on how 700 naruto chapters turns into 720 episodes, and 80 boruto chapters turn into 200 boruto episodes, and apparently there are movies? what arcs do they cover?

@@theonetruefusion8533 easiest answer is "fillers" there are so many eps of naruto anime that covers stuff that manga didnt even bother with. and as for movies they always take on a new approach to the Naruto verse and introduce places we never heard outside of those said movies. They introduce new jutsus, new ways of using chakra that was never even thought about in the anime or manga. and since they are made for cinemas they have increddible animations.

the fact that naruto went from feudal land lords fighting over territory, shinobis, samurai, geopolitics, and shit to battling space devils is outright insane. It could have been so much better if it kept a more ground-to-earth approach. (Of course it has fiction elements to it. The Doujutsu, the bijuus, etc. What i'm saying is that mixing medieval shit with space fiction just doesn't work. That's my point.)

I firmly believe that boruto wasn’t originally tied to Naruto but got shoehorned in as a sequel because it would sell better that way. Kishimoto had tried and failed to publish a new series before boruto. It didn’t sell.

I would say Boruto as a mc did what he had to do. Look inferior to Naruto. The point of the Boruto series was to depict what would happen if the opposite of Naruto would happen. Naruto was a kid with nothing but his own hard work and determination. Boruto had everything; a loving family which is also quite literally 2 strongest ppl on the world, mind of a genius and cool friends. But he lost all of it just like opposite of Naruto who kept earning things. Naruto build a world out of nothing for himself while Boruto's whole worl got ruined away and so now hes trying to get it back. So no Boruto is Naruto and Naruto is Boruto. The other side of a whole. The ying and the yang. Balance

Very entertaining and nostalgic vid for someone who has already watched Naruto, but not an abysmal introduction to the timeline or the universe for someone who hasn't. The tailed beasts were not explained literally at all despite being the only driving force behind the actions of the great nations AND the Akatsuki ever since Hashirama divvied them up. The Akatsuki was also woefully underexplained in favor of relatively inconsequential events like the bell test and the land of waves arc. You gotta pick between having a sub-30 minute runtime that still explains the important stuff to a newcomer (ie. your supposed target audience of Boruto viewers who didn't watch Naruto) and fitting in all the little quips and references you want.
