This was probably the best interview I have ever seen. I think it was because both Richard and Marlise were so comfortable with each other.

Richard and Marlise have such good rapport! They seem more like friends chatting than an interview. Love it.

Oh, and here's another thing. After his success with "Hamlet: A Novel" audio book narration, someone should seriously have him do the narration for "The Hobbit" audio book and all the voices and all that! That would be so amazing! :)

I went and saw The Hobbit The Battle of the Five Armies last night!! One word...EPIC! The best Hobbit movie so far! You were amazing Richard!!

I just saw it this past weekend. Excellent. Cried buckets. Darn you Richard! But a beautiful performance from all of the actors. The best movie of the trilogy, I believe.

Lovely relaxed interview with hilarious and original questions and some superbly insightful reflections, Marlise. So proud that we were there on his 'highlight' of the year, the first Crucible performance, when the audience (about a thousand people) rose as one to give him and the whole cast a standing ovation! Met him immediately after at the Stage door, and he was still in a state of shock, I think. SUCH a great guy.

He is too precious for words... *sigh* Hopefully if he does something in New York next year I will be able to see him live. And cry like the lame-O I am. LOL.

Holy Moly......OMG I absolutely LOVE THIS MAN!!!!! And yes, he should be a HUGE A lister but he's too humble for that. And theatre is where he truly belongs. I hope and pray I get the opportunity to actually see him perform live theatre before I die. I've never really wanted to go to NYC but for him......I'm THERE! Thank you Marlise for the BEST interviews of RA EVER!!!!! And Paul for editing and Alyse for filming!

A "...brilliant talent that we haven't seen in generations..." That was exactly my reaction six years ago when Richard first appeared in Spooks... and I'm still trying to work out how he does it! :) A big, big thank-you Marlise for providing us with such a wonderful Christmas present and thank-you, Richard, for a wonderful year.

Fantastic interview Marlise! You have that wonderful ability to put Richard at ease. Loved your questions and, as usual, Richards thoughtful answers. You bring something out in him that we don't always see - Richard relaxed, comfortable and willing to share things about himself. May he continue to feel fulfilled in all he does now and in the future. God bless you both.

Marlise, I subscribed to your channel because of your interviews with Richard Armitage. You are such a marvelous natural interviewer who does not ask silly questions, you put your guest at ease and both you and your guest enjoy the interview, which in turn is passed on to your viewers. Thank you for interviewing such a marvelous man who has stolen so many hearts because of his intense acting ability. PS: His sense humor and marvelous looks don't hurt one bit.

I would have loved to see him on stage, I think when you are on stage. You give more of yourself on stage, I am going to watch him on the download. But to have seen him and some of you guys did. I am sure he was just oh god wonderful. I think the stage makes you more of an actor then anything, it's hard work and you have to really push yourself. He is one of a kind and he is wonderful!!!!!!!!!

Marlise Boland comments about Richard 'immersing' himself in a role. I have to contradict them both over the description... Forgive me, Marlise and Richard... It is an indefinable part of Richards natural talent that allows one to see past Richard Armitage, to the very real person he has brought to life by means of his portrayal of a character on a page. (except for a couple spots where I could see Richard shining through) In Sparkhouse, it was John Standring who made us feel hopeful at the end. Same for Thornton, Guy, Lucas, Thorin Oakenshield, and John Proctor. Richard gives life to characters and makes us feel real emotion for them. That is what intrigues and fascinates me. After decades of study in Social Psychology and Human Behavior I find the "Human" paraded before me in these movies and programs. Like a fly on the wall I am able to observe, analyze and then understand the needs and motives of someone I've never met. That is the truly remarkable thing about Richard Crispin Armitage.

Okay, I have to admit. I kinda chuckled when he said you couldn't have a drink with you on stage in The Crucible. Because I went through the entire second act holding a pewter mug of water. I had to, during one performance I went into a severe coughing fit. So the guy playing Proctor snuck off stage and got me a mug of water, and then just casually handed it to me. And I was pretty much told to have that mug with me for every performance afterward. But, I suppose I was one of the few characters who could get away with it. :) Wonderful show! Wish I could have seen his performance!

Sorry, just thinking out loud here but when Ms. Boland mentioned musicals, in particular Les Mis, it took me like an hour to have it really dawn on me that Mr. Armitage would be PERFECT BEYOND PERFECT for Javert, my favorite character. Well, my favorite is a tie between Javert and Jean ValJean, but, just imagine that...But he said no musicals and I just want him to do what he wants to do. Whatever makes him feel fulfilled and happy, then I am all for that :)
@Sindizwe9 жыл бұрын
I get what you're saying, it sounds like he has the voice for it, but I can't help feeling he is too handsome. I thought Geoffrey Rush was the perfect choice for Javert back in 1998.
@mallory21259 жыл бұрын
Ha! True, he is REALLY handsome, but for some reason I've always been attracted to Javert in stage productions, can never quite explain why. And no reason that Javert *can't* be handsome, is there? ;)

I find it very rude how people don't want to respect someone's opinions, regardless of whether they like a person or not! It seems like everyone wants everybody to like him no matter what, and that everyone watching his films and movies has to like it! I don't get why the heck everyone wants to do everything to defend him like as if he was right about everything, even if he's wrong!! It's like, if there was an innocent person out there, people would insult against him or her all they want to, and it's okay, but if it's Richard Armitage that I've made comments about whatever I dislike because of how uncomfortable I feel about it, then oh, it's sooooo wrong for me to do and I'm the one who's soooooo hateful and guilty just because of what I say!!!!! To be honest, if anything I get involved in someday, especially if it's a little inappropriate, I'm getting a lot of that from Richard Armitage and other Hollywood actors out there. How about you people consider in life that if you don't think it's right for me to be honest of how I feel about someone if I feel like it, you shouldn't pick on anyone who really is innocent, no matter how bad you hate someone probably just because the person doesn't look good to your eyes like Richard, and if you are going to pick on someone, don't stop me from expressing how I feel?!!!!! If you can control how you feel about someone if you dislike a person, good for you then, but I'm not that way with every famous person I dislike! Any love I had for Richard was in the past when I didn't know him, which I never made comments about because my feelings changed before I started making comments about him. You people need to stop getting so offended by my comments!! It's not that I don't want him to make his own decisions! I'm being honest about what I don't like if it bothers me and I don't want to keep all my thoughts inside in the case I am uncomfortable, so that I don't have to keep being mad and can sometime forget about it!!! His looks can be so pleasing and igniting to me, but I admit I don't like everything about him and am not afraid to admit it!!! You have your thoughts and I have mine! I'm honest when I express my thoughts and feelings whether you like it or not!!!! If you people can't respect my honest thoughts, I won't be so kind about yours if you don't like someone!!! He can look like a really sweet guy, but there's much more to him, especially negativity, than just his looks.

Kayla Montanez you are entitled to your opinion but by reading your extremely long boring and critical comments, this is a fan based page and if you feel that way about RA you are not compel to watch his interviews you sound like a very bitter and not a particularly nice individual

Box of joy? Or box of frustrative joy? Where is the joy when somebody like him is serious and grumpy? It's really not joyful at all!
@kaylamontanez81588 жыл бұрын

Kayla Montanez you are such a troll and a very mean spirited and miserable human being
@kaylamontanez81588 жыл бұрын
He sounds like someone that should instead of being in A list movies, he should probably considered as someone in F movies, in which I mean the horrible and stupid movies. Even Elvis Presley was a whole lot more talented in music. Richard is only handsome, but I see nothing extraordinarily fascinating about him, other than his role in The Hobbit. To me, I think he's just a mean and very confusing person.
