Seriously, my sisters are 5'0" an 5'3". I wish they were shorter. Cause they where a bit nicer when I was a kid an they were just 4ft an cute. Nothing is short about 5"ft, literally there are enough women in the would at 5"ft that I will dare to consider it a average.

No, our ancestors are not tall. Early Filipinos whose bones was recently discovered in caves are 4ft below. Our grandparents or ancestors had to climb trees to get coconuts or produce. In poor countries like the PH with bad traditional diets, I think diet plays a bigger role. I think the tallest AVERAGE height Southeast Asians (including Filipinos) can reach is 5'8" which isn't that tall but good enough to global standards. This is evidenced by the Westen raised Filipinos being taller and fatter on average. Filipinos simply eat waaaay to much rice. I've often heard from Filipinos that nothing makes them full but rice. They eat 80-90% rice in a meal. Not to mention all that sugary, salty, greasy trad cuisine. Then there's the childhood diseases and infections due to dirty environment. In contrast, South Koreans are not only genetically predisposed to be on the tall side, but they also have a variety in their meals. Lot's of side dishes and grilled meat so they grow taller despite not sleeping enough due to their studying.

I'm in my early 30s and back in highschool, most middle-class kids are at 5'6".
