I thought the same when I first heard of the mod. I also usually work as a light tech in different venues and the fact that I could use the same software that I use IRL but now I could use it to control minecraft lights? Thats just amazing

This the mod I've been waiting for :D My only problem is that the moving lights won't show the "beam" if they stare vertical :( And I can't light the generic lights, but I won't need them

Idk if you can help me but do you think its possible to go from a controller via y cable in a pc with the dmx Software and minecraft to Show the output from the Controller in minecraft with your mod and simultaneously connect the 2nd wire from the y cable with your normal daisychain in reallife?

You can only control Theatrical via artnet if you want to use something outside of the game. Whatever software or hardware you use, if it can output a dmx universe via artnet you should be good.

This could be a step in the right direction for the modpack I'm trying to make themrd ariund Outer Wilds- having rays of light for sunlight, dark rooms, puzzles, and atmosphere will be a godsend. Now I need some datapack or API for obscuring lightbeams when covered by an entity, detecting it, and detecting whether blocks are in the player's FoV

I don't understand how you can move the set pieces with this mod? I mean, you showed us that the redstone interface emits a signal of various strenght, but I don't see how this makes move the set pieces, and I'm curious to know it cause I wanna make my own theatre lol

I can't remember saying that you can move set pieces with that mod. Theatrical is (as of right now) Lights and Redstone signals only. You can use mods like Create to do set movement and activate the Redstone with the Redstone interface. So in that way you could use Theatrical to control the set pieces. But the mod itself does not have such a feature

What type of fixture is the moving head based on? Is it possible to change the channel order for the moving head?

It's a custom fixture. I am not sure if there is a similar movinghead IRL. You can't change the channels. btw here is an overview: 0 - Dimmer / Intensity 1 - Red 2 - Green 3 - Blue 4 - Focus 5 - Pan 6 - Tilt

Hi nice vid man. Can you automate the lights on the music like you want in minecraft ? Like without the manual that you have on your desk ;) just automate the lights in minecraft by your self.

Theatrical can only be operated by external software.. At least if you want to do more stuff then the basics I showed in the video. If you use dot2 or any other software is up to you. Theatrical works with any software that sends out Artnet. You can also do timecoded shows in the software and play them so that you can do stuff in Minecraft while the show is playing. But you cannot do complex stuff ingame sadly. Only the basic controller that cannot do any advanced things.. :(

Dot2 can only send out one universe on the PC Version. You get more universes when you have the official and quite expensive hardware.

Holy sh** It's everything I was looking for, the only thing is that there isn't one for version 1.12.2, which is the one I use along with other mods to create scenarios. I wish there was a possibility of a version for 1.12.2

Vielleicht in der „Neuen Flora“ in Hamburg, also dort wo das Musical ursprünglich in Deutschland spielen sollte, jetzt soll es ja neben dem Theater in Hafen spielen. Das Theater hast du ja noch nicht gebaut. Von innen ist es ja sehr anspruchsvoll!

I don't know if there is a 1.17 version of Theatrical already. I doubt it but I can't tell for sure The movement was made with a custom made mod that is private within our project and only for Lion King

Bei mir „leuchtet“ das Licht nicht wirklich Blöcke an. Die werden also nicht orange, gelb, blau etc. angestrahlt. Die bleiben einfach dunkel. Muss ich bei den Grafikeinstellungen etwas ändern?

Die Mod kann das was du beschreibst leider nicht. Nur die Lichtbeams sind farbig wie auch bei mir im Video. Die Blöcke verändern ihre Farbe nicht. Es gibt jedoch seit Neustem eine neue Mod für 1.12.2 die realistisches Licht ermöglicht. Leider noch nicht kostenfrei verfügbar aber ich werde die in Naher Zukunft mal vorstellen. @@ORGGStudiosAlles klar, danke für die Antwort! Ich wollte nur gerne die Bühne meines gebauten Theaters in der 1.16.5 verschönern durch buntes Licht. Leider gibt es keine Mod in der 1.16.5, die das so gut ermöglicht…. Am besten würde auch Colored Lights sein, wenn es das nur für die 1.16.5 geben würde. Aber das Video, was du geschickt hast, ist echt mega gut!

Everything you saw in the video is vanilla or Theatrical Mod. (except the power blocks that came from the mod "Powah") Its also not scaffolding. Those are just truss systems without any use like the Minecraft scaffolding.

You can't output any DMX signal on MA3 without MA3 Hardware at home. Just for information. Only dot2 offers a free universe without hardware

I can't make tutorials for either of your requests. There are plenty of videos out there though for both installing mods and setting up aternos servers. Most important thing is that you pay attention to the mod versions. I don't think Theatrical is available for 1.20.. it's only available for lower versions. For example 1.14. And when you use Theatrical 1.14 you need minecraft 1.14 and forge 1.14, etc. Once you start mixing up versions it won't work

No that's not gonna happen. It's not as easy as you might think it is. Maybe take a look into the BetterLights video I did a while ago. That's compatible with Blockbuster

Well.. A generic light is static with just one color. The moving light can move, different lights, etc

You can definitely program your whole show in advance and just play it afterwards like big concerts, shows, musicals, etc. A timecoded show with cues that were made in advance. But its not like you press a button and the lights just do stuff automatically. (Sound-To-Light, etc.) This software is really meant to be used by a light operator. But you don't have to use dot2onPC. You can also use a different software as long as it sends out artnet signals via ethernet.

Please make sure you do the exact same thing like in the video! If it's not working please report any bugs or problems to the mod creator. The github and Discord link is in the description

Not at the moment. The last update of the mod was 2 years ago. You would have to try porting the mod to a newer version yourself

It's not an addon for movinglights. It's the whole Theatrical Mod for all features. You can obviously just use the moving lights but you need to install the whole mod
