I've had the Como Musica for about 2.5 years now, and I like it very much. It sounds very good, and it is ideal for a casual listener who is willing to pay a little extra for a bit better audio. I'm about to purchase the Como Duetto since Como allows their devices to connect to each other for a 'whole house' solution. Is it over priced? Maybe. The thing is, there are two versions one for the USA, and an international version. The US version is about $50 (US) less expensive due to the fact that it doesn't support DAB, which is not used in the USA. Those of us in the USA may find it a bit more compatible with our budgets. As I said, I like the sound rather well, and I also have come to the conclusion that the "TV sound" works well for me. When I was shopping around, I listened to a Bose Wave and preferred the Musica, It was cheaper than the Musica but the Musica sound was much better and crisper. The styling was important to my wife, and I think we both appreciate the knob based user interface. It feels much more intuitive to us. We have been around since dinosaurs have walked the Earth. I had to return my original Musica because it locked up and wouldn't respond to. . .well, anythhing. I called and got support instantly After walking me through a couple of support type tests, they issued me a return authorization, and within 3 days (Maybe 4 -Fast), they had sent me an email saying they would replace it. They even returned the CD stuck in the device. (The Commitments soundtrack - I love that movie.) I had a new device that next week. The support at least in the USA is first rate. Yes, it is pricey, but I personally couldn't be happier with it.

Hi Paul I had no idea you make so little for your efforts , so it must be a labour of love that keeps you so committed . As for the unit it’s entering a very crowded market,as every month sees a new device aimed at this particular sector . The Omnia from Sonus Fabrer being one of the new kids on the block , but when you look at the competition this unit seems just not in the same league . As ever you do your best to look for the good points and you did find them , but your final conclusion was the only one available to you . I suspect few people interested in this type of player will be that bothered to do any research ,as to how it stands up to the competition . Just as long as it connects to there other devices it will be fine . But I do find it amazing that when you can get far better results from a set of powered speakers for similar money , but that’s just me and I’m not looking at the bigger picture as they say . I had the Como Audio BT turntable for a bit. Made from Pro-Ject parts and featuring an Ortofon OM 10, the turntable sounded ‘pretty good’ to my ears. I ultimately returned it because the Bluetooth wasn’t up to my expectations but it feels like Como Audio has potential as a premium lifestyle brand - their designs are slightly limiting though. Not many options for upgrades, kind of a take it or leave it proposition.

maybe I missed your mention, but when you insert a CD, will this device connect to Gracenote or a CDDB database to pull down the meta-data or tags for the artist album and track on the display?

I have had this unit for about a year now. It's just for the kitchen/meals area. I think it's great. I've been able to load a lot of music on a usb and we can listen to whatever we like. The radio is fine and it can also Bluetooth from my phone to control it. Whilst its not cutting edge visually it's way ahead of the others in its sound and features. I've been very happy with it.

can it transmit via bt for bt earphones/hearing aids?

I sold my two year old Musica that I paid 600 USD ... for about 3 years ago on Ebay for 400.00 plus shipping used. It was great but I bought some new gear and wasn't using it.

It looks cheap. All the charm of a far east knock-off from 20 years ago, and the price?!? I have a Bluesound Pulse Mini, which was a LOT cheaper (granted, no cd player) and sounds teriffic
