Sou de Curitiba Brasil, e temos coletas separadas, orgânicos e reciclaveis, apesar que aqui ainda tem muitas falhas, pois um boa parte da população tem preguiça de separar devidamente o lixo do que não é lixo, aí na Autralia vejo tudo sendo compactado, sendo que dava para reciclar, e isso tudo vai para um aterro.

Those were the good ole days , me at a young age 7 riding my bicycle around town in pyjamas , following these trucks and watching how the blade crunched everything from home appliances to home furnishings inside the hopper for hours on end .

This is a Fairfield Cleanup truck, Campbelltown contract is using while Fairfield council has stopped Suez doing cleanup due to COVID, once things go back to normal this truck should go back to Fairfield. Also that white Dennis Superior Pak RL Liam seen is a Fairfield cleanup truck too its known as RL796.

Where I live (US) the non-trash items: beds, iron, couches is picked up by a different truck. Much of the metal items would have been picked up by someone who recycles metal.

Hi Daman, as you know, these are my favourite videos and you also know that I am old school when it comes to garbage trucks and so my technical knowledge of this particular vehicle is non existent and I don't know the correct terminology for all the working parts as they are today. I am fascinated by this truck because the packer blade has a far greater reach than I have seen on other trucks that you and others have featured in videos. The swallowing of the couch early in the video demonstrates what I mean. Does this indicate that this vehicle was designed specifically for this type of clean up? When these trucks were first introduced (not long after dinosaurs left the earth) my father referred to them as "compactor " trucks and refused to operate them after having his friend fall into the hopper and crushed by the "blade". I must point out that my father was not the operator of that particular truck at the time. I like the creative way that you hide street signs and it satisfies my obsession with safety which I must say that some KZfaq creators find annoying especially when I point out things in their videos that may identify them and their home address. I am trying not to comment on such things now but I do worry for their safety. So sorry for this extremely long comment and I will delete it if you wish. Great video Daman. Oh, evil thought for today: your bike photographed before being thrown into the hopper. See you in your next video.
