How about a Blueblood Sword run? Once you actually get the sword, it might not be so bad, but building for Luck and using a broken sword until you get it may be rough.

You'd think it's a challenge run, but honestly Blueblood is deceptively OP when you know how it works, to the point of being the single most powerful weapon in Demon's Souls when built properly. so the only real challenge of such a run would be actually getting through the 7 bosses required to get it. Funny thing about it that most overlook, but the Luck Scaling is deceptively poor until extremely high levels. so realistically speaking for your average run it's better to only go to 20 Luck (where scaling simply drops almost entirely until 50) then throw everything else into Magic, since for whatever reason the thing is buffable making it a nice double dip on stat scaling.

The run would actually start with a terrible grind anyway, considering you need to farm for the broken sword. On Lenny's broken sword run, he ended up getting a Vaati cameo via Discord call while farming it!

Hitting the tail was possible in the OG game with the butcher knife or the bone smasher by properly timing their backstep attack whixh was a big overhead.

Do you know whereabouts in the arena? I tried for ~30 minutes in various spots to no avail with the DBS. Definitely clipped through his front tendrils and thought some of the hits would've connected but no dice.

The only issue is the normally extreme game length...but I too would love to see this. You could probably manage it if you just fast forward through all the dialogue, but...that's so much of what makes it fun.

I too refer to the use of throwing knives as "aerial stabbing" so I'll let this one slide damn Lemon, you really are the king of souls challenge runs to me I mean, with the amount of times I've seen you pop up in a Baron or PressContinue video and the popularity of the "DS1 one-shot everything" videos, you might just be the unofficial packleader of souls tubers

I was about to tell you that you needed to attack Dragon Gods pillars with one hit at a time. You’re intended to use a blunt weapon with this, a thief ring and a stronger armor. I had this same problem when I got the remake.

Orpheus only is actually easier in Reload I think so maybe playing the game going for the True Ending using only Persona's from the last Social Link you leveled up would be interesting. Of course you could plan out your route and get Ultimate Personas by the True Ending and there are the DLC Persona's but having to specifically max out the Social Links in a certain way so you can actually get the Ultimate Personas for the Endgame just sounds like a really cool Gun Game concept. The reason why Orpheus only is easier in Reload though is because FES both ramps in difficulty much quicker and doesn't have the new systems from 5 that make Orpheus only a much more even playing field. It can be done, but dear God is that Reaper even scarier in FES than he was in 5.

Just like your fever dream about hitting the Storm King's tail, apparently I had a fever dream about killing all the bosses. I could have sworn you didn't need to defeat every area boss to beat the game, but apparently I was wrong. (My brain swears I used to skip the Maneater and Old Monk fights on all my replays of the PS3 plays)

hey lemon if you haven’t checked it out I highly recommend the Atelier series for the simple fact that making various elements of high explosives is the norm for the series you start with basically chestnuts in a bag and end with bombs doing thousands in damage inflicting every ailment known to man and just causing endless pain to your foes

Great video, The daggers only run of ds1 is one of my favorite videos, I revisit it from time to to, I just love daggers is souls games haha. Hey lemon, big fan. I had suggested the dragon head stone run on ds1 and was so happy when you did it. If you have the time could you maybe try beating ds1 using only resins? Also could you check out a turn based RPG called disguea hour of darkness? They have a type of character called prinnies you can throw that will explode like a fire bomb! The fire bomb academy must know if you can beat it using only prinny bomb! Thatnks!

A surprisingly peaceful challenge run. Was actually really nice. Proving once again that either a) Not every challenge run has to be smash you face against the wall hard b) Lemon has become too good at challenge running and now 'basic' challenge runs are too easy for them. Definitely one of those is true.

As a souls veteran and fanatic Demon's Souls humbled me back to by early days, I never had a PS3 and my old PC was too shitty to run the PS3 emulator so I didn't get to play DeS for the first time until PS5 and I didn't get my PS5 until early 2023 because of the shortage and price gouging so when I finally played it for the first time I had SL1 done on every other game, tons of challenge runs, no death runs in DS2, I think DeS took me longer to beat than any other first completion of any of the other Souls games, it's def way more unforgiving with deaths. Awesome run!
