Seriously. Plug-ins are tools, not services. Does a woodworker rent his saws, hammers, drills, etc? No, that would be stupid. The subscription-only model makes no sense here and is implemented purely out of greed and fueled by people who either don’t know any better or don’t care about/haven’t considered the consequences. Eventually we’ll all own nothing. Sounds dramatic but it’s probably not far from the truth. Anyways, love Softube plugins and use some of them regularly but hate to see them go down this road and won’t be supporting any kind of subscription model for plugins. Gotta vote with your wallet.

If you own all plugins used for this, it's free. If you own a flow section of plugins, that flow will be free. Killing two birds with one stone.

@@audionerdlilcuz ok so let’s break that down. And I don’t expect you to know the numbers. But how much is each plugin? And for $15/mo they give you credits over each month you pay. So by the time the credits add up you’ve paid $15/mo over how much time? The discount is nice but in the end you paid however much to get there. I’ve been in the tech space my whole career and the point I’m trying to make is that the whole deal is moot. This is the exact type of thing shareholders float out there to test the waters in an attempt to move to an all subscription model. It would be best to resist it all together. I’ll see if I can break down the numbers better. They conveniently put it in terms of “credits” rather than dollar amounts.

​@JaBrandonSpoons Flow is free If you don't own the plugins, the 14.99 month goes to a rent to own model until eventually you own all the plugins you like and use. Pretty awesome actually. Since I already own all of Softube's plugins, flow is a free value add for me.

@@AlexOnAudio Ok I get that. It truly is a rent to own model as long as you follow through with it. I did a breakdown. They are offering up to 50% off the plugins through the credit store. So when they grant you 30 credits per month, to get to the 50% off, you would pay 50 months which comes out exactly to 50% off. So you are essentially paying full price for the plugins but it takes 4 years to get there. What this tells me is that they are testing the waters to see how many users are willing to pay a monthly subscription. The benefit is you get to use flow until you get all the plugins. And if you want to juke the system you could buy only the plugins used in a specific flow you want and use it that way.
