I couldn't agree more with Anupam Mital's perspective on how some individuals find contentment in a mediocre life, ultimately hindering their potential for growth. It's eye-opening to see how complacency can become a comfortable yet limiting space for some. BUT life is a subjective journey, and we all navigate it in our own way.

What Actually hit me Like a bus was when anupam said "In the WEST communication responsibility is of the SPEAKER that addresses a CROWD whereas in INDIA we do it opposite creating more problems due to confusions." That was like awesome insight.

Absolutely Right, we usually think ourselves as fools if we are not able to understand something said by someone, rather than the speaker taking the responsibility to explain in a more lucid mannner.

Love the way Anupam explains his perspective. The clarity of thought is just incredible So different from typical entrepreneurs with good academic backgrounds and making it big through hard work but also alumni support from funding companies . Anupam brings a wealth of life experience which makes him so interestingly different. Thanks Shantanu for getting the best out of Anupam. And Shantanu man you can’t stop yourself from having chips. Guess they were meant more for the guest than you :))

@23:19 The BIGGEST test of any communication/training/speech/conversation/feedback is the golden rule we learnt WHILE I was managing about 3-400 people in a call centre... The golden rule is to "CHECK FOR UNDERSTANDING-CFU" it's one of my favourite cliches and it works EVEN while teaching Math to my 10 yr old... You CANNOT go WRONG, in fact, if you don't CFU, there's almost certainty that you WILL go WRONG

I loved the fact that Anupam literally called out complacent people being content with their complacency. This hinders the aspirations that an individual has. Clarity without a vision and purpose is nothing. Hearing those market insights and hacks which play a huge role answered my questions that I had my whole life. Would love to see more of such candid convos where both of em are passionate to explain why this happpens and explain the cause to that effect.

Fantastic podcast, one of the best in The BarberShop. I love the diversity of topics you'll covered and provides a macro view on life, society and how businesses evolve with society. The data point on businesses growing with GDP per capita is really deep. Glad you also touched upon Ram Mandir and how its impacting older generations. Underscores the depth of thought Anupam brings from his learnings and reflection.

I've learned a lot from this wonderful podcast, but the last 1-2 minutes completely captivated me. 1. Develop skills that will help you in your entrepreneurial journey over the next 1 or 2 decades. 2. Focus on figuring out how to do a meaningful work. My problem was that I used to observe the problems faced by people and come up with business ideas to solve them, but I was always incapable and lacked resources. And what prevents me from jumping out and solving the problem is the conviction that "a rocket without sufficient fuel will always miss the orbit and crashland". Now, with Anupam's advice, I can go and build capabilities for myself and not be insecure about the ideas during this phase. Thankyou Anupam and Shantanu. Btw, I am one of those youths who have high aspirations but lack some sort of resource or opportunity.

Anupam was going good until he went on a rant about people not having an aspiration. He talks about 400 million odd people who lack ambition, aspiration whatever. Does he not know that an insanely huge chunk of our population is still below poverty line? What about those that are multidimensionally poor? This seems to be a peak boomer moment in calling a huge chunk of people to be not aspirational enough all while being in the top 0.1% earner category. Not one time does he talk about how can we generate more jobs for this labor market, how can we utilize this large capital, never. There are differences between an entrepreneur and a profit only driven investor and I think that became quite transparent here.
