One of the best and most useful knots I've ever known. The funny part is.. it's not a knot.. it's a hitch!
This is an in depth tutorial on the Rolling Hitch, and practically every example I that I would realistically use this for.
A Great knot / hitch for Camping, Prepping, Bushcraft and Survival and ofcourse everyday life!

In this tutorial video, you'll learn how to tie a bowline knot, a versatile knot that can be used in a variety of situations including camping, survival, bushcraft, and general life skills and knowledge. The bowline knot is also known as the king of knots because of its strength and reliability. Whether you're tying a knot for fishing, securing your shelter, or just need to tie something securely, the bowline knot is a valuable skill to have in your knot-tying arsenal. In this video, we'll also touch on other popular knots like the clove hitch, square knot, and reef knot, as well as different types of rope and cordage like nylon, sisal, and macrame cord. So, whether you're a seasoned knot-tying expert or a beginner, this video is perfect for anyone looking to improve their knot-tying skills and learn valuable survival knots.
The following knots, hitches, and bends are in this video. I break them down into Anchor knots, Tension knots, mid-line knots, and binding knots.
You'll find the Zeppelin bend - or 69 knot, The Sheet bend and Double sheet bend, the Bowline, (Anti-Bowline or Eskimo knot), the Evenk Hitch (Siberian Hitch), Taut-Line Hitch (Magnus Hitch, Midshipman Hitch, and Rolling Hitch), Truckers Hitch ( Auto-Locking Truckers Hitch), The Prusik knot, Alpine Butterfly, Constrictor Hitch and Canadian Jam knot (Quick Release Jam Knot).
I tie all these knots with Paracord, and they are considered Survival knots, bushcraft knots and camping knots. I explain the use of a Bight, round turn, hitch, and bend.
Wether you want to learn how to tie down a tarp, how to set up a tent, what to do with a fray or cut in your rope, or how to join two ropes together - this is the guide for you!

I've tied it exactly like the instructions and yeah, it slides well, but the problem is it slides in both directions, so it doesn't stay tight... It just slides back the other way, thus loosening. I've tied it like 5 times now, just to make sure I'm not messing it up, but the same thing every time...

This works; can confirm! And not only that, but it's also *way* easier to remember and do than any other hitch or knot I've learned besides the granny knot and square knot (and those are so simple that kids use them all the time on accident! 🤣🤣). The side loop on my backpack broke a bit ago, so I used this hitch to tie it and the adjustable hanging-strap-thingy together so I had my loop back. It's been so nice to have a side-loop again!

Plus it's perfectly adjustable no normal belt can ever reach and so much easier, faster to handle with than an ordinary bow tie. Again, tyvm.

I said to myself, "OK, I've seen enough - it's time to subscribe!" I've been enthralled by at least seven videos over the last few days. Then I went to subscribe and found I was already subscribed.... I did brief stints in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, did two years in the Navy, trained as an Army Medic, and worked with a man who used rope solutions all the time and emphasized the trucker's hitch ( I only learned the name in a recent video, but he did tell me he used that hitch for securing loads on trucks. Duh!) So, I'm older now and not as likely to be doing much rope work, but I do so appreciate your videos and how you try to simplify and make clear how to make these knots and hitches. Thank you!

I specifically searched for this video because I remembered how good this knot is on my other sweatpant, so I copied it on the one I'm wearing rn.

I'm an Eagle scout, and mastered all the knots I needed to know way back then quickly with some practice. This one is new to me! But it does seem awfully useful, combining features of several different knots of which I am already familiar. Thanks for sharing. Ps. I've never heard it said that a hitch was not also a knot.
