He didn't want her to be at the party because he doesn't want Erin to see them together. He is interested in Erin and doesn't want his image to change especially if he possibly has given the impression that he is not happily married.

OK, it is time to check his FB friends list to see if he has added an 'Erin' to his friend list and see if he is 'liking' her posts. That would be the final nail in this cheating coffin... And then, talk about it...if this has not headed down that road, a talk could stop it cold...

It doesn't always have to be an affair... It could be but either way he has been distant and probably didn't want her at the party so they need to have a talk about their relationship either way. All relationships need maintenance
