Pakistan intellectual elite class knows the truth but hardly anyone discuss it openly . They all are aware Jinnah made a mistake by creating a nation on the basis of religion but none are daring to say it directly . They say that indirectly. They always say openly how creating Taliban is now costing them but refusing to acknowledge sponsoring terrorism against India . Majority of them wants a secular Pakistan but hesitant to say frankly . More than Army they are afraid of religious fanatics . If you listen carefully and try to understand what they are trying to say you will realise they want to blame Jinnah , Army and Islamisation but can't do so openly fearing of public backlash. For majority of Pakistan they can accept criticism against Pakistan Army but they can't accept negativity against Jinnah and Islamisation of the country.

While it is an eye opener for people of India as to how and why the economy of Pakistan has tumbled, I found it funny as to how Miftah sb. is defensive on the topic of aftermath of PM Vajapayee's and PM Modi's visit to Pakistan. It was also hilarious to find out that that ministers think that by tweeting about tomatoes he could start food imports into Pakistan from India instead of removing the state ban on imports from India.

In 2019, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested former prime minister and PML-N senior Vice-President Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi in one such multibillion rupees LNG scam, and the anti-graft watchdog raided the house of ex-finance minister Miftah Ismail to arrest him over his alleged involvement in the same scandal although he escaped. That's nonsense, at least since 2019 bjp gets vote on hindutwa, nationalism and jingoism alone. Nothing else. Vikas, development are history - haven't heard of vikas since I don't remember how long. But Pakistan also gets vote on India. It's a lie that anti India sentiment don't work there. Imran Khan's whole agenda was that he will deal with India 'strongly', unlike Nawaz. Slogans like 'modi ka Jo yaar Hai, gaddar hai'. If you saw PTI Twitter handles they would be FULL of anti India comments. Agriculture is the most important sector of Pakistan's economy. But, for some strange reason, both Miftah Ismail and Pervaiz Hoodbhoy completely ignored it in their discussion. No one from the audience asked questions about agriculture. The fact is that no analysis of Pakistan's political economy is complete unless feudalism and taxation on agricultural land and production are included. Feudal lords are large landowners who are exempt from income tax. Feudal lords get themselves elected to parliament where they make laws to protect their own economic interests. The main reason for poverty in Pakistan is that the majority of Pakistani people live in the rural areas where they have no access to quality education, quality healthcare, and opportunities for advancement. Both feudal lords and government hardly invest any resources for uplifting the living standard of the people living in the rural areas. This is a serious challenge for Pakistan which is being ignored to the detriment of the country.

Greetings from India. I have seen many Pakistani public opinion videos in KZfaq and onething I found common is that Pakistani makes everything connected to Religion. Jasba & Junoon are the common words we can hear all the time. Nobody talks with facts and figures. Being a Data Analyst, I love discussions where facts are presented. This is for the first time I have seen this channel and pleased to see that even Pakistan has people who talks on facts. I have one submission to make : Miftah ji spoke about PM Modi and spoke about the Gujrat riots. I think, he has not done enough research on this topic and spike based on his biases. Few facts, I would like to place here - 1. Modi ji came to power as CM of Gujrat on 7 October 2001 and the riots started on 27 February 2002. Exactly in 144 days (ie. 5 month) riots started. Don't you think, it was too short time for anyone to do something of this sort. He won't get enough time to prepare for it and come out clean. 2. I have seen Modi was compared with Hitler by few. So, let me share few facts on those lines. Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany in 1933 and WW 2 started in 1939. Even he took years to do something of this sort. 3. Coming back to Modi & Gujrat riots. It is on records that Modi ji asked neighboring states to help him with extra security force but he was denied. From 01 Dec 1998 to 08 Dec 2003, Ashok Gehlot led Government was in power in Rajasthan. Which means it was Congress (INC) Government and riots took place in 2022. I am sure, we are smart enough to connect the dots. 4. In 2012 Supreme Court gave clean chit to Modi ji and let's not forget that Congress was in power at the center during that time. I would request Miftah ji to do some good research on points he puts forwards.

Brother, it seems from your comment that you aren't even aware of the basics of the riot. #1 & 2 make no sense - the allegation isn't that Modi planned for months/ years to do a planned gen0_cide. The allegation is that: 1. He actively fueled sentiments of Hindus, with a parade of dead bodies after the Godhra burning of karsweaks 2. He told his police force to stand back as people rioted 3. He let various hindutwa groups run riot Sanjeev Bhatt, IPS who was the only one who testified against Modi, (that Modi instructed the police force to stand back) - is facing lifetime imprisonment now, under a separate case. Haren Pandya - bjp minister who was the other one who testified (saying the same) was murdered. There were many convictions including of Modi's ministers and Bajrang Dal members. Now under current regime - Maya kodnani's is free, so is her assistant who had been convicted. The bilkis bano rapists are all free - pardoned. Can you explain why, and if this isn't proof of complicity? Many of the above people are on video (I think in the 'Tehelka tapes') confessing to the heinous crimes on camera, and how a certain politician helped them. The cases were transfered by SC to Mumbai, because it didn't believe the trials in Gujarat were free and fair. Many cases restarted and many convicted. But even after transfer, the SIT wasn't completely free. Congress had no role in SC rulings. And your #3 hinting something on gehlot - can you explain the connection? The Delhi riots recently happened in Delhi, where central police force rules. The same police force which shot dead 28 people in CAA protests, didn't fire a single bullet in an actual riot. That too during heightened security because of Trump visit. Why? Because there was Delhi elections and riots always helps one party. Police was seen on video helping one side in the riots. And on Hitler - it isn't about 2002, but something horrible 'will happen' in future in this country for sure, the way the masses are being radicalized and one community rentlesssly, ruthlessly demonized. Modi will become as famous as Putin one day, for his actions.
@ankurgoswami7568
@ankurgoswami7568 Жыл бұрын
@@mrgyani Thanks for your points. Much appreciate for putting across so much efforts in sharing the points. Pls allow me to put across how I look at it - Sanjiv Bhatt had 2 Custodial Torture case (one leading to Death if not wrong) in 1990 & 1998 and False Framing of Crime in 1996. And when did Riots happen. He was sentanced in 2012 and from 2004 till 2014, it was Manmohan Singh's Govt. As people say, he had close association with INC Leaders, then why was he not saved :). Now coming back to his statement, SIT formed as per SC order and headed by Ex-CBI Chief. So, it isout of scope to think that he can be influenced. Also, one of the Witness whom he presented later gave statement that he was forced and threatened by Bhatt. Mr. Bhatt's history doesn't look like he is a man of honor and true. Out of all the Points, Supreme Court upholds clean chit given by SIT. So, I consider SC to be above all and can't make any mistake. Coming to CAA protest, well NE vs Rest of India protested for different reasons. In NE, people opposed stating No Ammendment to be done in the Bill whereas in Rest of India it was to do with why not included all religions in the Bill. We have gone through the NRC process and it went smoothly. Although few data entry issues came up. For example, my Mother was shown as wife for my Dad, my sister, my wife and for myself. But the correction happened easily. Regarding the death, 23 people died it UP for sure but do we know who were they and what could be the motive. Kindly, check this link (www.newsclick.in/who-were-23-people-killed-during-anti-caa-nrc-protests) and look at the profession of those people. This is my assumption only but I am convinced that those people had no idea what they were going for. For Bilkis bano's case, I completely Condem the decission to release those convicts. That was a heinous crime and deserves no mercy. I hope SC will take corrective measures. Once again, Thanks for engaging on such debate. It was for you, I read little more on Mr. Bhatt. Although, he doesn't deserve my time but still it was a good read 🙂

Today is today but 50 years from now you'd be asking the same questions to Pakistani economists or anyone and the answers (unfortunately) will be the same. What this says is that the reasons could be these but the problem is much more fundamental. There is no desire to progress. There is no nationalism. Don't go overboard. Before 1991 MMS was an integral part of the Govt for 25 years which wreaked havoc on the Indian Economy. Late 60s to 1991 was probably the worst period for our country. Even PVNR was a senior for 2 decades. Reforms happened because we were left with no option. Unfortunately these Reforms slowed down after the initial burst and came to a grinding halt due to opposition from the family frontmen like Arjun Singh, Tewari etc. The opposition in the party was so fierce that Rao as Congress President could not get even one supporter of his to the Working Committee at the Tirupati session in April 1992. All seats were won by those opposing the opening up of the economy.

As an eighty seven years old, retired industry professional, and widely travelled person, I can say that for an Economy to grow following conditions have be favourable : 1) Social, political and communal Stability 2) Maintainence of Law and Order 3) Fairness and Stability of: Labour laws Company laws Tax laws 4) Control over Corruption at : Policy making level Operating level 5) Source and cost of energy 6) Availability and cost of trained manpower In addition, the size of the market, competition and other business and commercial aspects. To start with, despite Qaide Azam's assurance, the powers that were, turned their efforts to shape the country as a theocratic state, and then the rulers adopted sect and region, based policies for governance dividing the society creating attrition between, the Sunni, Shia, Ahmedia, Ismaili, Bohra, Khoja, Sindhi, Punjabi, BLochi, Pathan, Bengali, Mohajir etc etc ! The separation of East Pakistan, and resentment in Balochistan etc are the result of this flawed method of handling the country's affairs from the biggening. Consequently investment in the industry, greenfield or technology upgradation of the existing one has not been made by either local or foreign enterpreneurs for a couple of decades as the slide of the economy gathered speed. A number of the Pakistani generations were brainwashed to believe in religious, sect and region based philosophy as necessary for their "Welfare" . This has to be reversed before we can dream of the economic recovery. A Pakistani Attaturk is needed to correct the distortion to put it's economy back on rails. The problem of Taliban will not go away overnight, it will take at least 3 generations. 3rd point, once I calculated, Pak army sucks 40 to 45% annual budget every year during peace time. Really heartbreaking yet also very candid and sincere and professional talk by miftah except his affiliation with n league. He is more clear headed than the Pervez sb Well balanced and mostly unbiased analysis by miftah. It is time to set our priority and move forward. We need to start somewhere and awareness of the challenges and solutions is the first step. Keep it up. Need to have more of such talks and debates with unbiased and sincere experts without prejudices.

01:09:54 Who were these people Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendera Modi, who visited Pakistan keeping their political career at stake? Vajpayee Ji's visit was betrayed by then PM Nawaz Sharif with Kargil war. Even then Vajpayee Ji restarted talk with Musharraf again but what we got, again betrayal in the form of extreme terrorism. Again Narendra Modi tried and even visited Pakistan unplanned with heavy criticism from opposition in India. But what we got again? Same relentless terrorist activities from Pakistan in the form of Pulwama and Pathankot attacks.

I listened to it late but really learned a lot. Need more such apolitical talks from unbiased professionals to be clear about our issues and their solutions.

The discussion will stay here. No effect unless practical measures are taken. This is a commom practice of having such discussions in pakistan. Blame , game corruption but no solutions. No unity no discipline.
