I tend to think, he in the process of cooking a new album and these retakes are “warmups” to his new original tracks. Plus, it’s shows how incredibly versatile he is. I like All Ren music. Give me his reggae, Rap, soul, instrumental, storytelling, rock, poetry, vintage Ren, acoustic, punk …etc. love it all!!

Ooooh! Ocarina solo! This was done in the space of about ten days when Ren was home for Christmas. He had realized (or heard) that Jungle had based "Back On 74" on the guitar riff from "Message in A Bottle", by the Police. Being Ren, he couldn't ". . . let it go."

Yeah the Patreon BTS of that was insane!! And the first full rehearsal with the lovely ladies (Scarlett and Sylvia) was only 2 days before the video shoot! It makes me even more excited for his upcoming collaboration album (Slaughterhouse)!

As others have said, Ren is doing the retakes as a way of paying homage and having fun with the music. He has hidden a clue in each of his recent videos as to the next song or artist that will be showing up. Here, for example, he says, "That's a Nas shout-out with an awkward pause," and the next video he dropped was his Halftime retake.

This boi is just getting started..as much as i love his entire catalog, i don't think we seen anything yet! Gives me chills to imagine the abundance of quality music this guy is going to be creating for hopefully many many years to come! This was another brilliant ReNtake. Just Ren doing Ren things. Crazy runs and harmonies, filthy bars to remind us that he is also still a cheeky boi, and that voice that’s perfect for Sting/The Police songs. Ren has music in his soul and pours so much soul into everything he does. We’re just lucky to witness it 🐰🕳️

My understanding is Ren is working on his new album and his latest video "Troubles" he considers the last of the Sick Boi album. The next album is suggested to be more guitar focused. With Ren that could mean anything but he's so good it doesn't really matter.

This is my third favorite of his cover songs. Two others he did with two of his former band mates of The Big Push . Some years ago. "Bongo Bong" and "English Man In New York". They are just fantastic. He sang and played with Romain Axisa and Goren Kendall on those two.

Hey man great reaction, knew you'd dig it! He said in an interview a while back, if I'm not mistaken, that he was going to drop some tracks here in there, that kind of paid homage to artist and styles he liked, and he hinted about his latest track "Troubles" and the 8 chapter story leading up to it. Then he said he was going to focus on a new album. He said rap will always probably be nearest and dearest to his heart, but that we wanted to an entire album of rock/blues/soul. I'm not sure if that's still his game plan, but I'm sure we'll enjoy whatever he puts out. ✌️💚

Ooo I’m glad you got to this! How versatile is he? I don’t know how this man had time to put out a #1 UK album, write songs for another one, dig into retakes with great videos, a few original singles, WHILE STILL GETTING TREATMENT. Pretty amazing artist.

My fave live performance of his. Great, honest reaction👍I think Ren did these 3 retakes to continue putting out content, while paying homage to artists he loves, while working on his other bigger projects. His last one Troubles that just came out is deep in the story and production of the rap track and was preceeded by an 8 chapter video story about his battle with Lyme Disease from the age of 19-26 and the positive aftermath. He's got a lot of irons in the fire. I think his collab with Webby might be next based on a hint in that new song.

Ren's always done covers and retakes. He mostly does them for his own fun and enjoyment but occasionally releases on for our enjoyment! :) He's been releasing a few now, because he's in hiatus between albums. He won't be able to put the finishing touches to the album and start releasing singles from it, until his latest treatment regime ends, which should be in July. Btw, it sounds like he's got 3 albums in the works. He's written a singer-songwriter type album, which is focused on singing and with lots of guitar. However, he's done so many collaborations, that he's really happy with, that he plans to release an album of those first. He's also been working on a rock album! :)

This was some real vibe ish right here ❤ I agree, singing Ren is a monster ❤️‍🔥 If you're looking to get some Big Push, I would say without a doubt, their live busking performance of I Shot The Sheriff/Road To Zion/Hip Hop is 🔥 The guitar work, the transitions, Ren singing like Marley, it's just insanely dope and really quality sound for being a live street performance. Wouldn't be surprised if it became your favorite Ren performance. It's my go to when the world has me on the edge 🥰

He is literally the retake master. Should watch some of the big push busking mashups. Freaking amazing Edit' just watched the end and yes!! will definitely be here for the big push. I promise you won't be disappointed. Each member is a multi-instrumentalist and they all switch out taking lead singing.

If Ren wasn't so bloody talented those backup vocalists would have stolen the show. He's always great at finding great talent to work with. I think between watching videos to mimic and learn from, acquiring various styles, and his favorite thing to do, busking, where he often did style changes and mashups is why he does these. Another nice reaction, and since you've not done any The Big Push videos you might not know the depth of Ren's busking history. Every cop in Brighton know Ren as he'd draw crowds at the spots he would set up at and they'd pass by going 'ah, its Ren again.' Pretty much leave him to it.
