I went to Tamino's concert in Egypt , and GOD hearing him live is something else!!!. and i got more lucky to be able to meet him after the concert and get a pic and an autograph ofc!!!

I think of this as a song about losing one of your closest friends to a life of fame as a musician. The friend abandons you for the support of fans who don't know them like you did, as you were your friend's first fan/disciple. Also, I saw him live in Texas, and it blew me away how he was able to do one man set (several guitars and his oud), and still sound as beautiful as he does in the studio. He was magical to listen to and watch.

Fun fact: Tamino is one of my younger brother's best friends. I've only met him briefly once, but I will most definitely be sharing this video, I'm sure it will mean alot to him

this song is about idols. a person you admire. who in the end remains only a human, imperfect. It’s not necessarily religious. Try Persephone. It's a good Tamino's song

I have to share my theories about this. For a long time, i thought he straight up point out my flaws and insecurities, like he's saying to me "bro ur a horrible person and you know that, do better." But then i read some comments in the vid and then i realize he might actually talking about himself. "The poems" are his poems. He's talking in his point of view now, while "you" is his previous self. I think he compare how he is before and after writing songs, how he felt lost by his fame and realize he shouldn't. He can be who he is now while loving who he was, nothing to be ashamed of. It might be religious, idk. I think Cigar points out about religion more than this. Anyway love your vids! Thank you for doing these amazing reactions, and sorry for this essay i just wrote lol.

I took it to be about the friend of a celebrity watching them fall into the traps of fame. But in that last scene Tamino is the one being puppeteered by a crowd. So I wonder if it's about him, from the perspective of a friend?

That's an interesting perspective. Kind of a full circle kind of moment where he is now becoming who he was singing about/against. That's an interesting perspective.

I took it as more of using people for the attention they give you and not caring for the people themselves type thing (The end verse seemed like he truly loved this person, but they only cared about his attention and quickly forgot about him cause he didn't actually matter to them), but that's just my own take

The song is a cynical double entendre on the love of fame. Drawing parallels between our modern celebrities(read influencers) and false prophets who seek and desire fame and praise to mask and compensate for their own insecurities. "You wont remember me" speaks to how fleeting fame and attention is. It's framed as a critique, highlighting that his "friend" has forgotten how to be one and has deprioritised real meaningful connection for his followers.

Have you reacted to any Jeff Buckley? I would recommend Grace NPA live version or Lover you should’ve come over Chicago. He has an ethereal voice and stage presence too.

Yay! If you don’t know who he is I thought I’d mention his the OG and very influential to many musicians who came after. Sadly he accidentally drowned in the 90s aged 30.
