It gives me quite the smile to see creators learning from and uplifting other creators. I'm in the same boat as many folks, having never watched PewDiePie for any of his gaming content but being marveled at his art progression. Everyone has their own approach and their own limitations, but everyone has the opportunity to grow their creative skills and make things they love. Keep being awesome, Brad! Thanks for spotlighting those you respect and learn from.

The only thing I know about PewDiePie is the bridge incident. And idc how famous he is or was, I see no reason to waste my time spectating the whimsical hobby of a celebrity when I can make better use of that time for improving my own art. Good for him if the man enjoys drawing though. Probably non-artist will enjoy more watching his art journey.

Important shout out to "Naoki Saito Channel 2". Definitely the best Japanese Anime Art teacher. Bar none. Most of his videos has multiple language subtitles for the none Japanese speakers. A must to those who want to learn about Illustration, Composition, Coloring… practically everything about the business. With many well known professional artists as guests. He used to have 1.6 Million subscribers, but due to major mishandling by Google that caused his first channel to be totally wiped out, he has to restart from scratch and made a new second channel.

I learnt a lot from Marco Bucci's videos, and a previous twitch streamer called Tsaoshin, I love their soft painterly styles, and have really adopted many bits and pieces from their techniques into how I interpret light and colour in my artworks.

Jackie Droujko is awesome. Ive been following her for a while and purchased her course on Domestika. Another person I follow and bought all their art tutorials on udemy is some guy named Brad Colbow? IDK he's kinda cool. But no in all seriousness your art tutorials whether they be on your site, on your other channel (the Brad's Art School One) or udemy I have learned so much about art from you and want to thank you and make sure you get your flowers for the amazing work you've done and have inspired people like me to pursue art as a passion that was in us since childhood. I bought a iPad Pro and Apple Pencil about 3 months ago and haven't stopped since. So thank you Brad, if not for your channels and your tutorials who knows if I would even be drawing again right now.

Nowadays there is two channel that really started to grow on me. SamDoesArts is a really humble, funny, and lovely artist, his works are really on spot, sweet and not busy where it do not needs to be. He usually rates tiktok and other social media art tips, and helps if there is a misunderstanding. The other channel is Winged Canvas. Lately i'm really interested in Cel Shading, and stuff like that, and their tutorials somehow feels good. There are multiple artists here, some of them animates, some of them draws, they are nice and helpful.

Currently taking a painting course by Jaysen and Austin Batchelor. It has been fantastic for learning how to use and blend colors as someone who rarely uses color an has never done anything in a painterly style. I have also gained a better understanding of the nuances of light and shadow and how the environment effects the colors. In the first lesson I was able to create a fairly realistic eye when following along. By the midpoint my still life painting skills were leagues better than I had anticipated with just a baseline understanding of the tools and techniques.

@@thebradcolbow the specific course I am taking right now is their “Ultimate Digital Painting Course” available on Udemy. Though they also have tutorials up on KZfaq. Has definitely been well worth the $15-20 when it is at its true price (Which is Udemy’s sale prices. Gotta love FOMO marketing). Currently about halfway through the course diving into the painting techniques in more detail.

Tyler Edlin is another art KZfaqr I respect a lot. He's a freaking seasoned OG. He's a master of digital painting and always gives good knowledgeable advice. I especially liked his video about the current state of art among creators, where he talks about good artist/teachers sadly not being recognized since they are expected to put on a show/ extra work for attracting attention on social media, which has kind of devaluated the craft...

@Rodgontheartist has his own style of teaching and drawing. I like to chill and doodle with him in my ballpoint pen 🖊️Especially when I don’t want to think too much about training and achieving something. But, I end up achieving something cute afterwards anyway! I don’t draw every single thing he does. It’s more casual and flowy. And no fuss! Literally any paper and pen and I find myself learning something without thinking about it.

I think the only one I would follow (because of the art style I like to do and what I want to learn) that you covered is the only one on here that I already follow!!! so that somewhat, unfortunate! But maybe if I tell you what I’m looking for you might be able to point me in the right direction!?! I want to learn how to draw and paint and lot more realistically looking areas with people but those people are characters from movies, shows, comic books and sometimes religion?!? But I haven’t found anyone that really does more realistic people (besides just their faces) but also using that to make, like Superman or Spider-Man or Anakin Skywalker or Clone Troopers…… and so on! Do you know anyone I should look up? So I took one person concept and put my spin on it in there with 2 characters and (at least in my opinion) it came out really good!!! I would show you if I could post pictures here!?! Or if you want to see it (and maybe get a better understanding of what I’m looking for) then ask, and I’ll tell you where you can find it and a lot of my other artistic things I do?!?

I dunno I personally feel as if the PewdiePie video is a little disingenuous. I've seen this opinion echoed around on KZfaq a little bit, but before he got big on KZfaq he was doing graphic design commissions on Photoshop to afford rent, so it's not as if he's literally starting from zero experience. He's already developed the skillset. His drawings on Day 1 were already decent, and just got better over time.

1:18- This might just be me…… but any time I see those kind of videos pop up I have a very hard time believing “they weren’t already a good artist beforehand”!?! Because my first question that pops into my head (if it wasn’t mentioned in the beginning of the video) is, “ok…. If you have never been a artist before then why are you making these videos? I really doubt it just popped into your head to do video on something you have zero talent in and apparently no internet in…. until now!?!” And if it’s brought up at the end of the video, then it just sounds like a add on excuse!?! And what makes it harder for me to believe any of them now is the fact that a lot of these videos will start off with really horrible drawing or drawings and then just out of nowhere their drawings are now great with no growth in the middle!?! Like Drawing 1) Can’t even do a stick figure right! Drawing 2) A face is just a line for the mouth and 3 circles for the eyes and nose! Drawing 3) The paint a perfect replica of the Mona Lisa!……. Really?!?

3:06- How is that cheating? Who actually thinks drawing or painting something you’re looking at is cheating?!? That just sounds like a bunch of salty people!!! Like I’ve heard other people say and I kinda agree (to a certain point) that tracing a drawing is cheating!?! Because, yeah…. It kinda is!?! Like if literally everything is your finished picture is only there because you traced it?!? Then yes, that is cheating! But if you use the tracing just to get the correct size difference correct and the main lines correct and then the rest of the drawing/painting is on your own or even just you looking at a picture but you add everything else in there by sight and not by tracing?!? Then that’s not cheating!!! But for all those people that think drawing something from sight and not from your mind is cheating then I hope they don’t draw/paint digital art!?! Because for the longest time I believed that was cheating!!! Like there are so many ways that a app like this one can help your art look way better than you could ever do and there is no consequences of messing anything up! Just hit the undo button and it’s like it never happened!!! And anyone that has ever drawn with paper and a pencil can agree with me on this, there is no undo button!?! Yeah, you can erase it….. but no matter how much you erase it, it is never all the way gone! And depending on the paper, you only get so many “mistakes” before the paper is no more!!! And getting the perfect color is 100% easier when digital! While if you’re doing a real painting (and you’re not already a professional/perfect painter) you’re going to waist A LOT of paint trying to get the colors perfect!!! And so many more reasons! So digital art is way more in the category of cheating then drawing from something you’re looking at ever will be!!!

Gege has only shown us Maki at a surface level she non stop comapres herself to Toji so what else are we the audience supposed to do, so sick of hearing the you just need to look deeper argument about JJK as if its a series thats nothing but surface level shonen. The author refuses to explain anything so he can do a mid reveal or Sukuna glaze its not my fault the author leaves no meat on the bone i know you read other series hundred idk why you keep looking for stuff that just isnt in JJK its rushed at best lazy at worst, its got some cool fights and Shibuya is peak shonen but now its ending and like other Shonen its a dissapointing finale until Shueisha stops treating these mangaka as slaves were gonna keep getting these endings where i can tell the author himself is finished i wish things were different with all the breaks and jump+ i see a bright future but clearly more needs to be done

Let's be honest PewDiePie is just there for engagement bait. I don't really understand why artists have to suck these popular KZfaqrs balls to appease the algorithm. Sure he can draw. But let's be honest here of course he's not as good as og artists on KZfaq that has been there from the very beginning. But suddenly people acting like he's an "art god". Lmao. Give me a break. If he's not Pewds y'all wouldn't even praise his art skill.

Exactly man. It's disgusting. The guy drew a picture and everyone is milking the content. Smh. Idgaf about what or how he draws. Hell, I don't even care about the man! But I think it speaks of a problem a lot of big art KZfaqrs eventually face: They run out of content. After they teach the elemental topics they'll have nothing new! And then they just do slop content like art fixing, reaction, silly rankings... Ugh!

@@J3ss4uyeah some people argue that he (Pewds) has proven that "you can be an artist regardless of talent as long as you have passion" which is true but hundreds of small artists on KZfaq have said that multiple times and now just because Pewds did it it's a "revelation". Lmao. Even Steven Zapata who is an artist leading the fight against ai didn't get enough attention but Pewds? Oh they learn something about Pewds Idk what they learn but they think they do.
