There is one prick who constantly dislikes Marks videos. They put a solitary dislike on the video of Mark visiting a fire ravaged beekeeper who supports Vets in crisis. That was an excellent video with a very human side. The mean prick was also the solitary dislike for that episode. I wish they would bugger off.

You look to live in a beautiful place, mate. Perhaps I’ll hop a tramp streamer and pay a visit- assuming there’s are still tamp steamers. Else it will be a long wet walk. Thanks for all you do for the bees and for sharing you experience and good cheer with us bees. Cheers, mate! Stu

I think the works you were looking for was "Risk Management". That is management of the risk of transferring problems.

Enjoyed that. Dad's a gem. Suggest including more bits where he's not being silly (if there are any).

If you want to be more thorough cleaning the Queen excluders have it sitting in salt water then wire the excluder to a battery 😂😂😂😂

Hi BBM. Is it true that I must have removable frames? Or can I just inspect the hive another way? I've designed a hive that is more natural and the point is to not remove the brood comb. Good vids by the way I enjoy the information. And the antics.

Yes you must have removable frames under Australias biosecurity regulations. You must be able to remove and inspect frames for diseases such as American foul brood and although we don't have them (yet) Varroa mite. Using a hive that does not have removable frames endangers wild hives and beekeepers in the area so its not just a problem for you only.

@@keithpadbury9818 thanks for the information. I've since read the code of practice and find it inflexible in a few areas. I understand the internet but you can inspect a hive without removing frames and that one principle restricts Australian beekeepers to one of many hive designs and one that is essentially 170 years old. I can achieve the requirement without removing frames.

@Threadie I find that as a new beekeeper the beekeeping fraternity is a big put off. I feel like an illegal immigrant. What's that all about? I done even want to start with government agencies. I think I'll just go dark! I can't handle the politics.

I’d be lying if said said I completely get what you just did. You put the existing bees in a new hive why? And will the old hive frames bee abandoned after the brood hatch? Why do you do this?
@BESHYSBEES

Looks like a cutout with comb rubber-banded in the frames, the natural comb is not good for extracting it breaks apart, the frames are lifted above the excluder with the bees shaken so the queen is below the excluder, once the brood emerges the natural frames are removed and used for swarm boxes or melted for the wax.
