This video is good, unlike other day to day job where they start waking up, brushing teeth etc for first 5 mins and doesn't explain the job in detail

Great video. I have a degree in Economics and I believe, it might be more important to understand the clients business requirements then to be an expert in Python. why I say that: looking for an education or training as a BA almost all courses or university programs focus on coding instead of understanding business data and solutions of real business requirements. Excel, SQL, Phyton ect. are just tools then, but if you don't understand the business problem in the first place, you cannot help your client.

Great video to understand the job of a BA. It would be great if you can share with us, which tools you use in your daily business and how you analyse the clients data, e.g. you mentioned Excel. Do you use a BI Software (Tableau ect) or doing coding in Phyton or R or using SQL? Your toolbox would be a great insight into data analyst daily job.

You guys, there is no specific degree that will get you directly into a job. If you're looking for what degree to get that is centered on context knowledge, then business, IT, and statistics could be a good degree for this career. But, there's been Business Analysts who have a wide range of degrees or even no degree.

Business analysis is not only a career; it is driven by passion and qualification.. lots of half literate engineers always circle around money and they start to bend towards what title offer more money. We find them saying - I want to do that. In reality they don't know a shit about that and neither 90 % of them are even qualified... if you ask them if they have any business degree to actually understand business ?? They will start giving some of highly lame answers. Most of half educated (or even less) engineers who don't like programming or want to earn more money tend to use these words as hiding the facts and pretend that they have real interest to become business analyst... While in real time on job they do nothing but System Analysis in name of business analysis and get things worse for organizations by zero value addition. - An observation based on two decades of journey in same field.

This is the prefect kind of stuff for a PhD student like myself planning on moving into data science /analytics career to get a feel for where I need to focus on my skill development. Are you planning on making more videos like this for a data science /data analyst type roles specifically? It seems like data science /analyst are just a more niche aspect of the stuff in this video and probably more common in larger companies where 'business analytics' captures a broad range of disciplines, apart of which are data scientists /analysts. Am I on the right track there?

Hey, I am an IB Y2 student and will begin my undergraduate degree in the second half of 2022. I love the job of business analyst and truly desire to be one. However, I am a bit confused in choosing the right degree for this career. Should I do a Bachelor of Economics degree OR Bachelor of Commerce degree (major in information systems, etc) Which would provide a more clear path to becoming a business analyst? Almost all of the "day in the life of a data analyst / business analyst / data scientist" videos out there try to be vlogs - apparently, it is important to know that data / business analysts make cheap ramen. Your video is a goldmine of relevant information for people looking to transition into this field. I appreciate that. Now my question is: What underlying concepts and tools should I know if I want to be able to help a company "standardize and optimize their pricing and quoting system". Did you do most of the work in Excel? Did you end up using any statistical software? Any Machine Learning concepts?
