I’ve been to the Dr. Suess Memorial in Springfield, Massachusetts back in 2012. I remember reading the books back when I was a kid and the books now like: “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”, “Cat in the Hat”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Green Eggs and Ham”, and ”Horton Hears a Who” more complicated once you know the stories.

Dr. Suess was a huge part of my childhood just like Mr. Rogers and Captian Kangaroo. And its cool that my daughter loves his books also. Dr. Suess said once in a news article he wrote his books so that kids can understand repetition and also in a way young minds understood them. My favorite book is All the places you'll Go. Super kool place Jacob. Thanks for taking me back down Memory Lane.

If I ever have any grandkids, that "empty green pants" story is first on the list I'd read to them. Any 5 or 6-year old gets spooked and delighted at the same time with that one. I need to find my kids old Dr Suess's. We had nearly all of them that we got at the county library thrift for like 50 cent each. I read about a few cartoonists who give a big nod to Teddy G as a major influence. Thanks Jacob for making a sweet video. I'd let my grandkids watch maybe most of your channel!

I had the privilege of seeing Mr. Geisel once, at the world science fiction convention. I was sitting in the lobby reading, when an older gentleman in a wheelchair, accompanied by three others stopped at the couch about 30 feet away. They were chatting about the convention, and I went back to my book. It was about twenty minutes later I realized that people were coming up an saying hello, shaking his hand, and taking his picture. It was only when I heard someone actually call him Dr. Seuss that I realized who he was. He stayed for about ten minutes saying hello to people. He had an ear to ear grin, and was obviously enjoying himself. His people took him away before I could work up the nerve to approach him, but he had seen me looking and gave me a nod and I managed to nod back. One of the few times in my life I was in absolute awe of someone.

I find it interesting looking at Dr Seuss’s personal art. It’s fairly disturbing and depressing. You didn’t really look at it but one of the pieces was shown in the replica of his studio. It depicted hundreds of cat faces, likely representing how he was overwhelmed by the fame that his books brought him.

You should check out Manitowoc WI. They have several weird little things: a maritime museum, complete with a real submarine that you can stay at overnight, a historic car ferry, and the spot where Sputnik IV crashed (there’s a yearly festival for it). The next town over (Two Rivers) is maybe the birthplace of the ice cream sundae, and has a museum to it.

I think the moose is Thidwick from "Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose ". This is from "Dr. Seuss`s Sleep Book" : " A moose is asleep. He is dreaming of moose drinks. A goose is asleep. He is dreaming of goose drinks. That’s well and good when a moose dreams of moose juice. And nothing goes wrong when a goose dreams of goose juice. But it isn’t too good when a moose and a goose Start dreaming they’re drinking the other one’s juice. Moose juice, not goose juice, is juice for a moose And goose juice, not moose juice, is juice for a goose. So, when goose gets a mouthful of juices of moose’s And moose gets a mouthful of juices of goose’s They always fall out of their beds screaming screams .SO...I’m warning you, now! Never drink in your dreams. " Moose Juice Goose Juice is also a quick service, snacks and beverages located in Seuss Landing in Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Sam-I-Am pesters Guy-Am-I in "Green Eggs and Ham". Fox in Socks. Emmy Award, he won two.

Cleveland Ohio has a top notch science museum where the former guest's exhibit from NASA's old Plumb Brook Station, now the Neil A. Armstrong test facility. The natural history and art museums are pretty cool with a whole section of medieval weapons, armor, and tapestries in the art museum. I might have missed the videos, but I was wowed with the Smithsonian museums. The American History Museum, Natural History Museum, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, American Art Museum, 2 Air and Space Museums, and the Smithsonian Castle. Then you have the Spy Museum, a Holocaust Museum ( though that might be a downer), and so many more I didn't have time to see on my last trip. Have you ever consider doing zoos? Just here in Ohio, Akron, Cleveland, Toledo, Cincinnati, and Columbus have really nice zoos. But there are also probably a dozen aquariums and animal/safari parks as well.

I believe you meant to say, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish;" The fishing Seuss had done also influenced him to create the story of "Mcelligot's Pool." To answer your question about which stories each of these are from... 1. The moose sculpture is a reference to the story called Thiddwick the Big-Hearted Moose (a moose gets unwanted guests on his antlers but sheds them to get rid of them and joins his friends after escaping being hunted) 2. The tale of Yertle the Turtle is basically Yertle wanting to be the king of everything that he saw, but Mack dresses him down with a big burp and Yertle becomes King of the Mud! In other words, "Pride cometh before the fall." 3. The Goose Juice is a beverage mentioned in Dr. Seuss's Sleep Book, specifically in a section where a moose and a goose are sleeping and dreaming of their respective drinks which ends with this warning: "Never drink in your dreams." (My sister knows that story by heart thanks to us listening to a version narrated by Marvin Miller on tape in our younger years) 4. That illustration near the restrooms and the cubbies is from the tale of The Zax; two Zaxes (one going North, the other South) get in each other's way, and, after a brief argument, stubbornly end up standing and not moving aside to let them through. They're probably still standing there to this very day. And yes, you got the Sneetches one right, good summary of the story by the way. 5. The guy in Green Eggs and Ham...My sister and I used to call him Yellowsocks because of a clickable in the Living Books version of the story. In the TV series adaptation, the character's called Guy-Am-I. 6. The figure above is Fox in Socks. Little chicks in socks are on top of Fox while Fox is standing on top of some clocks, bricks, and blocks. That's it. As for my favorite Dr. Seuss story...I like The Cat in the Hat and its sequel, Oh the Things you Can Think, Bartholomew and the Oobleck, Gertrude McFuzz, Horton Hatches the Egg and its sequel, Yertle the Turtle, The Lorax, and of course, Daisy Head Mayzie.
