The word for the roundness of Moonbyul's wording is caesura, which is a poetic device that indicates a break in the meter. Caesuras are used often by many skilled rappers and it's something that I also noticed about Moonbyul's rap style. Like, sometimes she rhymes in ways that would be impossible without the caesuras. 😂 Truthfully, more songwriters don't use them because they have a rigid idea of how songs should sound and how they should be structured.

Moonbyul is a lyrical vocalist as well. Check out her single “Snow” or “Ten Nights” or just search Moonbyul singing.

Mamamoo is my BTS for Kpop girl groups. They are really good vocally. Nice that you've reacted to this vid. This really showcased their vocal talents.

Actually 3 members have tattoos Only Solar don't have any (except perhaps her eyebrows, its tatooed) Also Hwasa have a slight cold during this recording so her voice is nasally than usual but still she slayed WHEEBYUL is the ship name for Wheein amd Moonbyul. Another info, if you tune down Wheein's voice it sounds like Moonbyul even the girls (Wheein and Byul) was surprised that they sound similar. You can try out MoonByul's Absence, a miracle 3 days ago and Snow for her vocals and Eclipse for an intense rap and singing.

Moonbyul is also a vocalist(she has made audition for vocalist), but they wanted her to be a rapper.

Out of the twenty plus reactions, I have watched to this vocal performance from Mamamoo, you are the only one so far, to notice the audio track, let alone notice the vocals contained within that track. Tacking nothing away from the Mamamoo lady's, for me, it tales a significant edge of their vocal performance. This is due to the post production and mixing that has taken place to produce the sound we hear. The reverb used in some places is so noticeable, you could almost be listening to an Elvis, song. I would love to hear true acapella from the Mamamoo, lady's. As this video shows, they are more than capable of performing in that style.

A great mv to react to is their "2021 MAMAMOO FAN MEETING Special Clip" on their youtube channel as it is also titled as "Pokemon OST" In it Moonbyul sings most of her lines and harmonises with Wheein and Solar at different times. Also there is a section of rapping Solar just to show how diverse their music skills are.

I am not fully sure of their style YET, but they made me listen all way through. I can still hear the subtle Korean music in it that's awesome and the middle of the performance, whether it was part of the music or not made me smile. 😊

Mr Ambiguous (the opening song) was their 2014 debut song and isn't part of the recent disco trend in kpop (not a fan). Mr A isn't based on disco anyway - its retro sound is based on 60's funky soul and early 70's jazzy r&b. Sounds like you haven't heard much of Moonbyul as a singer. For the first couple of years she just rapped and did the low harmonies but starting with Paint Me in Jan 2018 she started singing more and now she's pretty much a full fledged member of the vocal line, tho you'll mostly hear her singing on the b-sides and her solo work. Since you love their vocals you really should check out Paint Me, which is one of their vocal masterpieces along with I Miss You. I Miss You is a b-side from their 2016 album Melting. Their performance of I Miss You on the gg competition tv show Queendom is one of if not the best live vocal performance by a girl group you'll ever hear.

I just discovered you and your Mamamoo reactions! I’m only part way through the video but wanted to comment on what you said about them being the best vocal kpop group and I’d have to agree, but for 3rd gen. Thanks to Killing Voice I discovered this group called Big Mama, and if you’re into harmonies and vocals you NEED to listen to them and react to that video. They’re the OG vocal kpop group that debuted in 2003, disbanded in 2012 and made a comeback in 2021. Between that, they all became professors of practical music theory in different universities across South Korea and one is now a dean! As an avid moomoo, Big Mama takes the cake especially with how much MMM has looked up to them and essentially were the blueprint for their group.

Such a feel good sensation, I hope the world will accept these Korean and Japanese group, they bring so much to the music vibe. And far for the commercial industry we have in Occident nowadays

I love MamaMoo! Their vocals are so different than most female kpop groups. To me(my opinion only) other female groups sing in this almost childish tone sound. MamaMoo doesn’t, they have a richer sound.

Yoo I feel the same about their songs! Mamamoo are the only gg I really love, and there are some songs that are my favorites but also quite a few title tracks that don't do it for me/feel generic compositionwise. I'll keep following them though cause that talent and dynamic

I get what you mean about Moonbyul. She hardly ever does the usual choppy stacatto style or the droney mumble rap. She has such clear and precise enunciation.....I can almost imagine you would get a similar result if some random person from british high society decided to take up rapping.....all rounded vowels and articulation 😅

Everytime I see one of those compilation videos of other idols "harmonizing" in yt/twt it always threw me off cuz most of the times (not always, but mostly) its just full of footage of people singing while layering, and not really harmonizing. Just because a bunch of people sing together at the same time doesn't mean that they are "harmonizing". People need to know the diffrence and understands how hard it is to harmonize, let alone sing in a perfect harmony. This is why what Mamamoo does is special. Just like the title of the video, they not only sing, they sing IN A PERFECT HARMONY. They harmonize so skillfully its like breathing to them. THAT'S how talented they are. Anyway, I wonder how to explain it to people that what their idols did is not really harmonizing without hurting their feelings so I just let it go lol 🙈 its just nice hearing someone point it out

MAMAMOO and BTS are not just “kpop boy group” or “kpop girl group” in my opinion. Mmoo and BTS are probably the only groups who do their own work. They are the only groups who really express THEMselves in music. Considering many other groups are just run by the company, sure many other groups are self produced.
