It’s actually so crazy how they did this. The fact that they were able to make everything so coherent is disgustingly insane. With each harmony aiding each other, they were able to do make something so beautiful. Absolutely love this band!

God, this song defined my childhood and was probably one of the biggest reason why I liked rock (and later metal) so much when I was a teenager. This version is just...wow. The voices blended together so well and the arrangement is just incredible. I love it.

Yuko is so tiny, yet she has such a powerful voice. Machiya (the guitarist) is an excellent singer in his own right.

Yuko and Amy have collaborated prior to this, a song called Sakura Rising, which was a pandemic themed tune about two friends separated, one in the US and one in Japan. It is also excellent.

They also did an original song with Amy Lee.

Almost sounds like if the song were written to be played by Wagakki, don't you think?

I also like this cover better than the original, the orchestra and traditional instruments just make it feel more epic. Amy Lee's guest appearance was due to a collaboration with Wagakki Band on an original song, Sakura Rising. She also sang part of Senbonzakura in Japanese at the same show.

Remember that Yuko and Machiya are singing in a language they don't speak (well, maybe a little bit, but just a little bit). His growl is really the icing on this delicious cake. His mic level was too low, in my opinion.

This duet is ALMOST as amazing as the best duet ever (Sharon den Adel and Anneke van Giersbergen - from the Within Temptation Black Symphony DVD concert). But yeah, the song went from Metal to Symphonic, and it works

I got to see Amy Lee and Evanescence live in 2018. I was awestruck with her performance. With live performances you expect some flaws (nobody's perfect) but she was flawless.

I think this all started when Amy saw/heard them, then invited them to see her in America. They got on well, and decided to do something together. They got the song "Sakura Rising" out of it, and Amy guesting at this concert.

that was epic!

I believe this came about in 2015. Wagakki Band did their first American tour (west coast) and Amy Lee invited the band to one of her concerts. I think they were very familiar with each other's' styles and this collaboration took root at that time.

Amy definitely wasn’t great live in the early days.

Honestly, this is not a good look for either band. As much as I like Amy, she is totally overwhelmed here. WB had to pull back on the throttle so as not to embarrass her. So you don't get to see them in their full glory. I respect that they wanted to work together, but Suzuhana-sama is in a completely different league.
