Having only discovered VoicePlay a few months ago (just after discovering Geoff's solo pieces), I quickly found all kinds of channels that review their pieces - yours, Peter Barber's, Maggie Renee, Mortius among them (the voice technical side) - and pure fan reviews that range anywhere from useful commentary/background to mainly facial expressions of amazement. Loved this reaction! Epic song, for sure! As for the chainmaille, I make them, and have three for myself. Two of them are steel, and weigh around 13kg each, while the last is aluminium, and only comes in at around 4,5kg. They are so balanced, that as long as you're wearing a belt around it (to keep it from slapping your stomach every step you take), you don't feel the weight of it until you take it off. And it's not that warm either. After all, it's got around 10-15,000 holes in it... I'd be honoured to make one for you, should you want your own!

About the chain mail: While chain mail is heavy, yes, it is also held up by your belt, which means that the weight is distributed very well over your shoulders and hips. It's obviously not weightless, but it's far from unwieldy. You'd need to be able to fight in in after all. In the video you actually see the large belt he wears for this exact purpose.

Well, when you consider how many younger guys don't have enough hips & butt to hold a towel wrapped around their waist more than a few steps, it's no wonder that he had a rough go of the chainmail. Kudos to you for an excellent reaction and analysis video as well a fun cosplay costume! Your open and giddy enjoyment of the music and theater is very uplifting; I laughed along with you a few times because of the joy in your face. I am always looking forward to your analysis of VoicePlay performances (also HomeFree, another favorite of mine). This one brought together many elements that hit my "buttons"; VoicePlay, Fantasy, Cosplay, Theater, and your reactions and ability to show me the intricacies of the music I would otherwise miss. Thank you for your skill and time doing these videos, they really make my day!

It is an amazing cover! I love it! And I love your cosplay, especially the fact that the arcs on the side of your face that is toward the camera make me think of sound waves XD The vocal acrobatics in it are just delightful from every member of the group. I've never been upset when Omar is singing with the group in the times that he's been featured. He does have a lovely crisp, clear high tenor range, and he does work well with the group. Could he stand out a little bit more for my tastes? Yes, but he does vibe well with the group on the whole. As for Eli, you are 100% correct. I've heard him referred to as the vocal equivalent of a utility player from baseball, and I've come to thoroughly agree with that assessment. He's able to perform outstandingly well in whatever part he needs to play, whether that is in the forefront or in the support space. I always tell new reactors to VoicePlay to never underestimate him. And yeah, he would be an amazing rock and roll vocalist. I love it when he gets to strut his stuff in that domain.

You know what i just realized why i love your channel so much. You put your passion out there and unapologetically go all in and every time i find my self just grinning watching your videos and seeing how passionate you are about music and vocals. You make something i never cared about before sound and feel fun and i have been listing to more music and in different ways then i have before. Thank you for this you have changed my perception on music and vocals for the rest of my life. I all most want to say what your doing here with music is close to the level that Steve Irwin did with animals. Keep being awesome and making the content you love.

VoicePlay + Medieval = EPIC!! They just never miss. Every single thing about this one is amazing. I love the dark timbre and the dramatic feel. I've always had a thing for that deep, evil bass sound in orchestral music so when I saw they were doing this I was so excited. I still get chills listening. It's also really astonishing, but their next one goes clear to the other end of the spectrum and is absolutely hilarious. I laughed through the entire thing. And Layne sings a little solo too! I actually like it that they have so many guest stars because they can really match them to the music to make it just a step above what other a cappella groups can do. I'm not knocking their talent at all, but VoicePlay just has that extra something that makes them stand out. Fun fact: Cesar is wearing real chain mail and it weighs 20 pounds!
