I'm excited to see something older and far more rustic looking could possibly be introduced into the chateau. As much as I love looking at the glam stuff, I'm a pretty rustic looking thing myself. Lol

You should have drainage holes in the pots so the plants don't die. Or be very careful how you water them. Sometimes it's better to pot them in plastic pots and use a cover pot for decorative purposes. It's easier to water.

I was thinking that, too. The plants seem to be happy that live there. I’m guessing Philip is knowledgeable about them. I’d put some of these in the shade until it gets hot.

Those beams in the attic - just WOW!! And Selmar working his magic in the downstairs loo - MAGNIFIC, Selmar!! I really love Philip's attention to detail. I really wish we could go back in time and have a visit with Philip as a child. What a sweetie pie! Hope you all have a wonderful week.

I found the comment about no corridors interesting. I am renovating my grandmother's farmhouse that was built of brick made on the property and oak, also from the property in 1867. I just finished removing the wallpaper in the upstairs front hallway. The east and south walls had milk paint -- still bright -- under the wallpaper. The bottom was burgundy, the top apple green and a wide purple band at the top! But the west and north walls were plastered. The paint went behind the plaster of the west wall. At the end of the hallway, in the west bedroom the is a closet in the north east corner and the inside is painted in the same band of colors. This evidence leads me to believe that the hallway is a "newer" addition and that once there were only two large rooms.

They just seem to be so perfect for the LaLande Environment. I come away creatively inspired myself, just from looking at it on screen.

@@mparker6823 I also get a lot of pleasure from imagining what Stephanie would do with these fabrics, more fun in store and a small participation from us. When I first began watching, way back then, I just couldn't imagine that Stephanie was such a 'nice' person, we get so used to fakery on the net. BUT I quickly realised that she was exactly as she appeared, fun, positive, brave and generous. She gives us so much of herself, gives so much to others, gives a home to many for hours, days or month ( and sometimes years! ) it allows us to 'live' with them for the duration of the vlogs and imagine more beyond ! xo

I think I could spend hours in the downstairs loo. The stone floor, the mirror and chandelier and the windows opening out to bright green woods and birdsong. Divine. Congratulations Selma and Steph and all the other people who worked on the tiles.

You are so lucky to have your LaLande crew Stephanie, I was married to a Dutch South African for 43 years . Selmar reminds me in some ways of my late husband, he would try anything, and always wanted to know how things worked. He was a Computer Engineer.

Hi Lalanders! This messaje is for Philip!🙂 The plants has to be in a pot(plastic or clay) and than you can put them in the ceramic vase. This way the plants have drenage and the ceramic vase do not spoil or get damage with water, dirt and roots. And also you can easily change the plant from one ceramic vase to another every time you wan. Bissous bissous for everyone.💛

what a hive of activity! 3 guys hard at work, one insulates the attic and carries huge wood beams, one removes, carries, splits and rearranges huge slabs of stone flooring and one is busy with potted plants and cutlery, lots going on! :)

For the Orchid you should have left it in the plastic container and set in a pot that doesn't drain. Once a week fill with water let it soak for 15 minutes. Then lift the plastic pot out and drain off the water.

I’ve learned recently that orchids love pots that let through light, it’s good for their roots :)💖 But the pots and plants look very lovely! Everyone is doing is a good job💖🥰 The floor looks perfect and the attic find was very exciting! A very lovely episode🥰💖

cachepots are meant to cover actual pots with holes, to allow for proper air flow and drainage. The orchids roots will rot without the plastic pot and drained fully.

I have so enjoyed watching the men of the chateau doing the incredibly skilled work they do - all the Ians, Amaury, Selmar (such loving work as well as patient and skilled), Dan, AND the chap who climbs trees to prune or bring them down. Not sure yet what Phillip does, but I'm sure he is a great support to Stephanie in all the admin and property running that she does. Love watching you all.
