Interlock Bind Off

How to do the interlock bind off for k1, p1, ribbing in the round. This is a neat, sewn bind off that stretches without flaring the edge of your knitting.

This is my new favorite bind off! It’s a bit fiddly and takes a while, but man is it worth it. Using this on all my ribbing bind offs from now on! :D

I usually do tubular bind off but with the yarn I am using now it seems to curl the ribbing annoyingly. This technique gave me thinner and more suitable edge to my work! Thank you!

This is absolutely amazing bind off method! Using this I finally successfully managed a toe up sock bind off that wasn't too tight, and doesn't flare

This worked beautifully! My sweater cuffs were worked k1tbl, p1. The knitted stretchy bind off I tried left a wavy edge, which was awful! But this interlock version looks wonderful! Great video!!

i love this, so elegant and refined ... my only concern would be if I am counting on the stretch of the cuff to get over the heel/instep area to get the sock on? Any thoughts?

Surprisingly, this creates a very elastic edge, making it perfect for sock cuffs for exactly the reason you said. ❤

Thank you for this tutorial! Can this be worked with 2 x 2 ribbing? I have to bind off on a headband and this seems like it would work with my German Twisted cast on. Thank you!

It works in the way that all the sts are finished and won't unravel, but you may want to test it out on a sample of 2x2 ribbing to see if you like the look.
