Double Start Cast On

Learn how to do the double start cast on. This method is also sometimes called the combined long tail cast on or double crossed cast on.
This method works well for knit projects that start with 2x2, or k2, p2 ribbing.

It’s lovely. Very clearly demonstrated! How does this cast-on compare in stretchiness to other stretchy cast-on methods?

I think it's stretchy enough for cuffs (socks, mittens, sleeves, etc.) but just like with the long tail cast on, you need to be careful you're not overly tightening things up.

What prevents this from being tight? I love the look of it.

Just like with the long tail cast on, you need to be careful not to over-tighten things when you pull the loop that's below the needle. If you pull it super tight, the edge will likely be too tight.

I'm using the skacel by addi Rocket2 [Squared] needles. Instead of being round, their more square-ish which is supposedly more ergonomic. The indentations help your stitch advance on the needles without having to coax them along making knitting easier on your hands.
