"Hey, Henry, I ordered the parts you requested." "Thanks, Bill, I... These aren't springlocks, William; they're brake mechanisms." "What?" "Their serial numbers are one number off in the catalog. I've mixed them up before myself." "Then what do we do? Send them back?" "Well, we could. Or I could show you how I made a suit with brakes instead of springlocks." "Is that legal?" "Osha violations are written in blood, and these suits haven't killed anyone yet." "Henry... you're scaring me."

It's completely in character that Afton would make something so incompetent, given the fact he's an arrogant so and so. "Safety? More like.... lame-fty. Gottem." ~William Afton, definitely This explanation is actually really consistent with what little we know about springlock suits. In Fnaf 3 (I think?) there's some audio recordings explaining to employees how to get inside one, and it mentions using a crank to wind the springlocks back and lock them into place. This makes much more sense with the elevator mechanism than an actual springlock. Sidenote, I know there's way more backup measures in place on a real elevator, but after seeing that diagram I'm now even more terrified of riding in one than I was before. Woospies.
@TheChiptide
@TheChiptide Жыл бұрын
Nah, I wouldn't worry about it too much, elevators are some of the safest modes of transportation out there! It's borderline impossible for an elevator to fall down the shaft like they do in the movies, on the very off chance that the cable breaks while you're in the elevator, there are about 5 different things that will catch it after a second or so. Even if the cable did snap while you were in it, you likely wouldn't even get hurt!

I like your analysis of William's intelligence through his inventions, but I think you're missing a few key parts of his character. If William is either negligently cutting corners or intentionally making the suits dangerous, these things don't add up: - William is going to be the one wearing the dangerous suit - The cable-break design is far more expensive than the actual springlocks the suit is named after - It would be far cheaper and simpler to design separate animatronics and suits. So, instead of assuming motive and comparing it to his behavior, let's analyze the behavior and use it to extrapolate a motive. - The cable-break design is needlessly expensive - The suit and animatronic being one-in-the-same is unnecessary and expensive - The frequent failure of the mechanism implies that the cable-break design is poorly manufactured and not properly maintained All of these things make sense if William is a narcissist inventor with delusions of grandeur who doesn't have the funds necessary to support his big ideas. - Why does the animatronic also have to be a suit? Because no one has ever done it before and it would be impressive. - Why is the cable-break design needlessly complicated and expensive? It's possible that it was easier to minimize, but more likely that William just had the idea and wanted to pull it off. - Why does the design constantly fail? Because William is one of two people operating a single family-owned diner that likely can't support a top-of-the-line animatronic or the parts needed to maintain one. - Why does William go through with it anyway despite the risks? Because obviously he's so much smarted than everyone else that he can pull it off.

I don't think afton's under funded, Fazbear entertainment is only one company he owns, he also runs a robotics company, responsible for designing the animatronics and other things, such as illusion sound disks, which have the brand name on them, indicating they are products the he sells, so I am sure he makes quite a lot of money, Afton is just extremely selfish, so likely he didn't take the time to pay for safety measures that actually worked. In the books he had survived being spring locked before, but continued using the suit, because of his pride and weird obsession with the suit.

Those “dials” are meant to be hand cranks. According to the Phone Guy in FNAF 3, the springlocks are wound by inserting a single hand crank into the animatronic and then winding back the robotic parts. Consensus within the FNAF community is that the Sister Location suit is designed like that to make the minigame work, and that the canon springlock suits didn’t look like that.

I believe that the books state that the suits are very safe if taken care of. I also heard that Henry did try to sabotage William's suit, but he lived and was only deeply scared. Although if one were to fully fail, it's said to be slow and painful, a cascade of springlocks, each one drawing your blood to loosen another, your ribs will be crushed and you will drown in your own blood. If you happen to be in a room full of people, the animatronic will go towards the loudest sound, forcing your bleeding, ripped up body to contort to the animatronic's movement, alive and in pain; you will not be able to scream as your lungs will be full. I think someone called Elecrofur or something made a full video on the subject. As for why William would willingly goes inside them? He's insane and considers himself to be an animatronic and is also obsessed with Spring-Bonnie

The books also use a very different type of suit, which explicitly has the endo entirely removed instead of pulled apart like in the games. In the books, it's just a series of hooks that hold hte suit in place, while in the games, the entire endoskeleton is pulled apart to make room for the wearer while still keeping the endo inside.

It seems like the books end up using both versions of the springlock suit (the springsuit with the removable endo, and the game-version with the compressed endo), so there's some grey area for what carries over and what doesn't. The issue with the books is that they have some wild concepts and it's never clear what is meant to carry over one to one (like William's name and his partnership with Henry), what's a narrative parallel (like a lot of things in Fazbear Frights, such as Andrew paralleling UCN's Vengeful Spirit who is heavily hinted to be Cassidy, or the events of Room For One More paralleling what happens to Mike in Sister Location), and what is totally separate (faz-goo, Sea Bonnies, Lonely Freddy's mind-swap).

On another note though… If you really wanna milk this whole debacle for what it’s worth, make a third video on them, then it’s currently been confirmed that the official FNAF movie will be coming out in late October of this year. Maybe, just maybe, it’ll give us a shot of the inside of a physical springlock suit, or show William’s old blueprint designs or physical test models of the springlock suits. Only time, a thirty dollar theater ticket, and a twenty dollar bucket of popcorn will tell… Maybe a set of goofy paper 3D glasses too, who knows? @lewstherintelescope
@lewstherintelescope Жыл бұрын
@@erickamakeeaina1649 So, this theory kind of draws on a few separate things from across FNaF. One, Circus Baby's Pizza World was early, and there is a reasonable likelihood Henry and William were both still involved with Fazbear at this point in time. We know it's early because a spring lock suit was designed for it at all, and this is backed up by the AR Faz Facts that mention animatronics with claw mechanisms as among the earliest. In fact, Baby implies the suit has killed someone before, so it may very well be responsible for the incident that gets them retired. Two, Funtime Chica appears to exist at the time of Sister Location (one of the teasers mentions Chica's Party World as a client of Afton Robotics). However, when we get her in Pizzeria Simulator, she has no liability attached despite being part of the Funtime line. This suggests to me that while William built the Funtimes we see most, he may not have designed _all_ of them-why would he make them all capture bots but then leave Chica as normal and safe to be around? Three, in the novels Henry implies he's taken steps towards killing William. William also has gone through a spring lock failure between when he was last seen in 1985 and when he reappears in 1995. Adding two and two up, it seems that in the novel timeline (which of course does have a lot of differences from the games timeline), Henry sabotaged a spring lock suit he knew William would use. (Probably Spring Bonnie in that continuity, there's some weird stuff with it and William in _The Silver Eyes_ that seems supernatural.) Four, the suit in Sister Location is _absurdly_ deadly. Like, I know these things are walking death traps, but Spring Bonnie has been sitting in that back room for a decade getting rained on and breaking down, yet before it fails William _still_ can move around in it more than we can move in this thing. It's almost like it was _designed_ to fail or something. Wait... Put it all together, and it seems fairly plausible to me that when Henry began to suspect William of being behind Charlotte's disappearance but knew he didn't have enough to go to the cops with, he offered to pitch in on this new restaurant that was being started under the Fazbear umbrella, designing this suit to trigger easily and get rid of him. Unfortunately, in this timeline some random person got caught in the crossfire instead, likely part of why it takes him so long to act a second time. (I actually think the suit might _be_ Funtime Chica, because the face shape looks pretty similar and we never see any extra Funtimes besides her, but there's no hard evidence for that.)

I do believe Henry came up with the idea of Springlock Suits, what we know is that his Animatronic Designs are more rudimentary, the Fnaf 1 Animatronics and Fnaf 2 Withered Animatronics use somewhat primitive looking Endoskeletons, whereas William's Funtime Animatronics are highly advanced despite most likely being built rather early in the timeline (They have to be built prior to Fnaf 2 simply because Sister Location needs to take place before Fnaf 2 otherwise the series protagonist, Michael Afton, has no motivation to go to the Fnaf 1, 2 and 3 locations in the first place) William is clearly the more intelligent engineer because he managed to build the Funtimes before the Springlock Suits were discontinued (Circus Baby states that the Springlock Suit was supposed to be used for her Old Pizzeria, before it shut down due to "Gas Leaks") But the Fazbear Frights Books inform us that the reason Henry was so successful is his passion for creating Animatronics, in one of the stories, a Character meant to be a stand-in for Henry basically manages to make simple Wooden Dolls come to life (I don't think it's explained) Basically, Henry's less of an Engineering Genius and more of an Artist

Springlocks in Fnaf 5 are different from the others. Springlock in fnaf 5 probably made for the minigame so you can try get to the next level. And don't forget, in Fnaf 5 almost all animatronics made for killing childrens and stucking them in their "storage place". And in that minigame you are probably in one of them. Other springlock costumes like in Fredbear, Springbonnie are different from other. Them endoskeletons' doesn't get removed from the coustume. They just staying there because if you remove them there will be nothing to hold costume pieces. And when one of the springlocks faillure not all them faillure. If you know the rules of "How the use Springlock suit?" you can survive of springlock faillure. And springlock faillure will only happen when you are DON'T KNOW how to use them. William was know it in Fnaf 3 minigames but he was so scared about ghost childrens so he didn't care so much thing like water falling down the roof etc. And they combine the Animatronic and Coustume because they are arguing about making a costume or making animatronic so they made them both. And If them make the costume and animatronic in different suit because when they open the first restaurant they don't enough space and enough money to made them in different costumes. And Both of Fnaf 5 and Fnaf 4 is in the 1983.(I am not talking about when we are playing fnaf 5. I am talking about when fnaf 5 animatronics where made.) If you look after 1983 animatronics are stop being a springlock costumes. Because they understand what happen when they use the springlock suits and they have money to make both springlock suit and coustume but at this point maybe Henry and William Afton was not working together. So far, we have 2 spring lock failures on the controls. One is in the mini-game where William Afton wears the Springbonnie costume; and the moment when Evan's head was bitten by Fredbear in fnaf 4's 5th night minigame, we can call it the 1983 bite. So there isn't to much springlock faillures. And that why probably these all happend. (If you read until here thank you.)

a super interesting video but there are a few things i could definitly note the most major one is that the SL suit's mechanism is definitly purely for the minigame, it wouldnt make sense to have all the suit's locks inside the faceplate, and also would be rather difficult for Mike to wind these "locks"... if they're on the inside of his faceplate a second general disagreement is the overall safety of the suits, they dont fail everytime we see them and probably arent *super* sensitive to moisture. the fanbase likes to overhype how deadly the suits are but like, they were used for multiple years with performers working in a restaurant (where things will get spilled inevitably), and theres only like 2 instances of actual springlock failures, one being the reason why they stopped using them (likely a few years after they were created, and their status wasnt ever said) the other time was William death, which happens over 10 years after they were made, likely unmaintained for the majority of that time, in a closed down pizzeria with a leaky ceiling where the suit was stored. not to mention that if William wore the suits while killing the kids (would be kinda weird to take the time to take the suit off first but maybe he did) then the blood didnt cause an issue, so it wouldnt be that sensitive might still not make much sense that water damage was the thing that ruined the locks in that way, but it's a much better track record than portrayed a third general disagreement is in regards to who made them/how many people are involved. Fnaf has very few named characters so the fanbase tends to only look at them as if htey did literally all the work which is just nonsense, William is the head of a robotics company, which seems to be atleast somewhat sizeable, he has other engineers that wouldve helped design and create and maintain those suits. as for henry, games dont say much about him in general, seems to be that he was somewhat of an engineer but not the main one for the majority of things we see in game, would've likely made some early robots and some of the last ones, but is gone for most of the series

let's say this is how the fnaf springlocks work. the springlocks would only fail if they where unmaintained. the only springlock suits we see fail. are ones that have been abandoned and very much not maintained. fredbear doesn't count. why would springlocks be moving his jaw? the springlock suits in their prime where most likely very safe to use.

Back in those days like 1970 cops went to people asked about if they saw anything and if you said "oh officer is there somrthing wrong? I didnt see anything, but wish you good luck!". Thats what would happen in the back the days and irl! You could get away with murder by saying you didnt do anhthing or knew cuz cops werent efficient like whose gonna go around to look for a body thats stuffed in a suit, like bro these are so new that not even cops knew what these were so thats why they didnt check and btw the thing with the henry he knew will was the serial killer and tried many times to make will fail and protect kids but failed many times and will made many killing sprees and finally henry burned them all including himself cuz he wanted to end it all with no more story left to tell, but WILL always comes back baby!!!!! Lol

I like to think that the convoluted sister location springlock suit was constructed after afton went serial killer mode And the fredbear springlock suits were more normal and were just poorly maintained after the bite of 83 which led to the failure afton received when he got in the suit Not an engineer or a huge lore gorbo its more like an idea of mine

The suit in sister location isn't a springlock suit. Baby is lying. Reminder: In a springlock suit, it's not the springlocks themselves that kill you. The endo snapping back into place does. When a human wears a springlock suit, the endo eyes and facial area are pulled to the front by the springlocks, so the customer still sees the animatronic's eyes and not the human's eyes inside. If the sister location suit was a springlock suit, what do you think you'd see in front of you? Right, an endo head. But you see absolutely nothing. The suit is empty. In addition to this, when you cannot keep the "springlocks" wound during that night and you die, the springlocks do not kill you. Instead, you are jumpscared by a Minireena. Isn't that interesting? Scott could have easily done the same blood red screen effect that he did for the scooper, but he chose not to. And all of this, literally right after Baby does a massive monologue about 'playing pretend' and lying.

I think the fact that there poorly designed makes sense because well Henrey is the engineer so obviously William wouldn’t be as good at robotics, alot of people think he learned robotics specifically by reverse engineering Henreys robots and reverse engineering a pizzaria animitronic will not make you a qualified mad scientist

Hello FNaF fan here a few things to say 1. The springlocks in the franchise are completely different than real life Afton shows us in the visual novel how they look and function 2. Afton didn't design the suits to kill because he didn't start killing until he lost his youngest son 3. I wouldn't call Afton stupid just incompetent he designed his own springlocks he knows how they work however he went inside one of them as if he didn't know what they are, he hastily got inside when he was running the place has been abandoned for nearly 30 years so clearly it was in a damp room, water was leaking from the ceiling and we see him step in the puddle, and got caught in a fire no less than 3 times however he also is clearly smart in some ways he did manage to make the suits accessible to be made for both performers and the suit mode. Great video though

I feel that scott thought of "Spring Lock" suits, because of the fact that a spring snapping into a locked position sounds hurtful. But he designed a "Crank" Lock" suit... which is more along the lines of what he designed, bur doesn't fit what he wants it to do. I feel Scott, or whoever is in charge now, should retcon the name to crank locks

"Clearly he built these suits to be dangerous ON PURPOSE in hopes that someone would get killed in it and he wouldn't be blamed for it" I know you say you're a novice to FNAF, but you did stumble on the exact answer lol he intentionally designed the suits to murder people because in the game's universe there's a special metal that can only be obtained when trapping the souls of dead people into metallic objects, and he made the suits to basically create this metal autonomously without him having to do much of thing since he'd already been under police suspicion once before when he murdered half a dozen children personally.

William Afton is a genius, and I'm gonna prove it with the famous Chewbaca Defense. First of all, THIS is Chewbaca, a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now think about it; that does not make sense! Why would a Wookiee, an eight-foot tall Wookiee, want to live on Endor, with a bunch of two-foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense! But more important, you have to ask yourself: What does this have to do with this case? Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this case! It does not make sense! Look at me. I'm a vtuber defending a serial killer, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca! Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense! None of this makes sense! And so you have to remember, when you're in that jury room deliberatin' and conjugatin' the Emancipation Proclamation, does it make sense? No! Ladies and gentlemen of this supposed jury, it does not make sense! If Chewbacca lives on Endor, William Afton is a Genius! The defense rests.

To basically put, William gone mad after his son the crying child aka Evan died due to his older brother Michael and his friends doing that stunt that damaged his brother's brain due to the mouth not closing and applied pressure. Plus pretty much the springlock suit he used it many times to disguise himself to kidnap and murder the children after he was found out to no longer be affiliated with fazbear entertainment. So he killed Henry's only daughter for payback that was his first kill. Basically William never maintained the suit cause its already old on the springlocks. When the ghosts cornered him, he would wear the suit cause they are afraid of him when he wears it so he can escape till poof the already old mechansims burst and springs stuffed into his body and killed him as a human. Plus over the few decades he ended up decaying especially rats and other things took some of his flesh but thats out of the mechanisms.

11:42 no no that one doesnt make sense. See he may have been... well less of a bad person, we dont know when or who for that one minigame with orange man, so depending on those factors he might have been an abusive dunk even before, but all that side, he was at least not a murderer before the crying child "bite of 83" incident. Which, it is before that when he made the springlock bonny suit. But you are correct William is stupid. I mean heck, help wanted shows that he *literally already had a non-animatronic suit as well.* which became his mimic digital persona or something or another I dont really know.
