Completely agree, I am 62 and loved this era, The Sex Pistols The Clash The Buzzcocks and my favourites at that time Stiff Little Fingers....As the years went on Manic Street Preachers took over music for me (especially their early stuff) and The Enemy.... Also I would recommend you take a look at The K's who ive seen a few times, my first time was over 4 years ago, fantastic young band.

The only band that matters to clash fan's, same thing could be said for any band that has a loyal following like the clash does, i remember talking to a guy on site years ago who was older than me and was telling me about how brilliant it was when he seen them in concert here in Glasgow, will never forget his description of 'we were all jumping about crazy fucking spitting on each other's face ! 😅

No one rivals the Clash. You cant have a more politically active band. You cant get a better songwriting team than Strummer/Jones. Topper is an incredible drummer, Paul is bass dynamite, Mick is just a god at guitar. And Joe, hes an amazing singer, an amazing writer, and he just loves it so much. R.I.P Joe, R.I.P The Clash R.I.P Punk R.I.P Good music all together!

I'm 56 I play this song on my old xbox360 (guitar hero) on easy and turn the rest of the band down so you just hear the lead guitar and through my stereo on max and play the game, my neighbours think I'm a musical genius, I haven't got the heart to tell them the truth, I even drop the odd mistake for it to sound authentic 🤣🤣🤪 true story 👍

remember as 16-17yo with radio held close to my ear between 10-12 pm listening to John Peel and Festive Fifty - that music has stayed with me for 40+ years, my own favourites in order were SLF, Joy Division, Sex Pistols and Clash but complete control in my top 3 songs along with alternative ulster and god save the queen...you can envy the youth of today in lots of ways but not in their music!!

Mick was 22 when he wrote this, one of the greatest punk songs ever. they had played all over europe and released multiple legendary singles and an all time LP by then. when I was 22, I was sleeping until noon, smoking weed all day and playing call of duty.

Was lucky enough to see them in Feb'78 at the Queensway Hall in Dunstable, UK. En core was 'White Riot' the older lads started a riot, windows were smashed, the cops were called. I was only 12 years old, fantastic, I've loved gigs ever since.

The last part of this song (from about 2:15 on this version, which in my opinion isn't quite as good as the studio version) is just about my favourite bit of any rock song ever. Still gives me goosebumps after listening to it for 35 years. 35 years?!! Jesus!

This group probably helped me become who I am. I always liked punk music. When i'm started listening 'The Clash' i didn't even know a single English word, but i fell in love with 'The Clash' ... My first meeting with the group was through movie 'hackers' where Matthew Lillard was in' the clash' T-shist.. I remember this T-shirt with the red logo of the group on white background.. I then thought - what a cool logo - what it means? Then happened The Clash of my brains with this music. Now i'm 37 and 20 yers of my life i'm 'The Clash' fan! Thank you great Joe Strummer! Rest in piece!

Probably my favourite Clash song. So personal, so challenging to the status quo, and so ferocious. It doesn't hold back in its message and it's such a great punk rocker. That last minute, too, with the background vocals is downright ethereal.

managed to see them once on the Combat Rock tour - I made the mistake of standing 2 feet away from one of the amps when they kicked off with London Calling, I swear my ears are still ringing to this day! This song sums up the Clash IMO, one I'd play to someone who asked "what were the Clash like?"

I saw the Clash back in 1983 at the US FESTIVAL 83. They closed the night and i became a fan. I became a over the road trucker in 2003 and the this song became my favorite, it still gives me goosebumps.
