Quick story about my cat Mitz, she brought up to the front porch not one but three dead mice, she laid the in a row from largest to smallest, I must have been 19 it was gross but we all laughed, called her a good girl and I got rid of them. Good mousers are worth their weight in gold for sure, never had a mouse in the house she also caught Voles, and a mole, she was a great cat 🐈

Skeletor is just like my husbands horse. He wears me out😂 He steals my hat of my head every morning when I bend over to pick his bucket up and flips it around in the air.

I will never own horses, even though it was a dream for a long time, it just isn't in the cards, so appreciate that I can follow your journey will your horses. Living vicariously through you and your horses. 😊

Primrose is built very nice, I had a horse years ago that a quarter/thoroughbred cross, he was high spirited and naughty much of the time and I was worried he would never be good on trails, but he finally did get less hot and we spent many a year riding in the South Mountain Preserve that is located is South Phoenix. Wonderful trails, hidden places and even a very large "cool" cave that had a natural split in the roof that served as a chimney when myself and friends would ride up their on weekends and spend overnight. We could cook over the campfire in the cave because of the natural chimney the smoke was not a problem. My horse was called Shane, he was a gelding that had been raised as a youngster following his Mom on the very same trails in the the Preserve. He remembered those outing well, he was great about the cactus along the trails, he was fine about the many jackrabbits running around, and he was super surefooted. He had black hooves and they were hard hooves so he never had problems with his feet going along the rocky trails. At night in the cave we had a nice flat spot to tie the horses and we would use a pack horse to bring our food and theirs with us up there. Looking out across the valley of Phoenix at night it was like looking at sparkling jewels, many good memories of my horse and my friends up on those mountains. He lived to be a ripe old age and I missed him big time when he passed. I have not had a trail horse like him again, he made me feel safe on the mountain trails, but he was a bugger on flat ground; he did like to run and was hard to stop, I figured it was the race horse blood in him and I did NOT go on flat ground rides with him as once he got his motor going, he was difficult to stop. I fell off him once on one of his "runs" and couldn't walk for weeks. He was however my favorite for any type of trail riding. Your Primrose reminds me of Shane in a big way.

Welcome to warmblood baby brain 😂🤣😂🤣. That’s why my young horse is a Lusitano. The sillies are a lot shorter. Skeletor sure is a good looking dude though! Oh, and a suggestion for poor Stud Man, that you are kind of doing-let him watch the others having good experiences. It might really help him to see that no one gets beaten the way he probably was 😢

Hi CC -- You ask if we'd be interesting in a video showing how you troubleshoot the behavior of highly stressed horses that -- as you so diplomatically put it -- have been handled "roughly." The way you walk us through your thought process in this video is really great -- a unique combination of knowledge and intuition. I have to sort of chuckle to myself when you mention that Skeletor let's you know "how he's feeling" -- when I know that the ability to pick up on those signal is uncommon. Your gift is that you can read it -- observe it -- make sense of it -- and know what to do about it. I guess what I mean to say is that you downplay an ability that is actually quite rare and fascinating. I love watching it and very much appreciate you for it. Definitely would be interested in seeing how you deal with horses that have the "I'm scared to try because I have been hit for getting it wrong before so now I'm scared to try anything" issue. It makes me super sad to see horses like that because what brought them to that point will make you hate the world if you dwell on it too long. Teach studman a trick with a reward system. I've broken down a defensive barrier with something incentive based that is more like "play". Give him something fun that reassures him. I did this with a very spooky, reactive mare and she stopped to think about the ask when she associated with the fun thing she was taught. The fear became a thing of the past.

It has become my favorite thing to watch each of your current horses and to see their progress. Primrose is gorgeous. Just listening to you and hearing your evaluation of each one, where they are in their rehab/training, how they’re doing, how they’ve been in the past, is an education itself. I really appreciate your videos and am surprised to be learning so much in my older age.

I had a horse off the track who started out fine, though I suspect he may have been treated badly. He full-on charged me the first time I longed him! I had to stand my ground and point the longe whip straight at him, where he skidded to a stop. I kept him for a handful of years, he did fine for a long time, no problems. Then the horse next to him in the barn (someone else's horse, a jerk on both counts) started picking on him, and he turned mean and unpredictable. As in, walking along calmly in the big ring, biding his time, no warning, no distractions, and then suddenly BOOM - all four feet off the ground, head down, bucking HARD. I usually had a good seat & not bucked off, but he threw me HARD a few times! As soon as I was on the ground, he was fine. I finally had to bring him back to the rescue where I got him & they retired him. No sense in someone getting hurt. I grew up riding horses from off the track, never had one do that before!

It was really good to see you start working these 4. Poor Studman, he is so sweet and I felt bad for him when he was worried. I look forward to seeing his journey, as well as the others.

Due to three failed hip replacements on my left hip and two dislocations on said hip, I'll not be able to ride again. Do I'm horse-less. For some reason I don't think Studman will take long to come around under your guidance and positive training techniques. From the video clip, he seemed more wary than scared...like "oh no, not this again".

Totally agree would love to see Studman get over being afraid. I would be as puzzled as you as to why he is so scared especially since all you have done is treat him with love and kindness, luckily he didn't have to deal with an abusive trainer like Pete did, he would be a hot mess.

I am new to your channel and really enjoy the content. I live in Iowa and own a Mustang mare who I pretty much trained on my own, it has been quite a challenge as I am 60 years young and love to ride as much as I did the day I brought home my first pony at 11 years of age without my parents permission! You seem to have the patience of Job and I am enjoying how you treat each horse with their individual personalities and see how you will be approaching each personality and abilities to match them with their disciplines they will excel at!

I would definitely find troubleshooting the "anxieties"fascinating. I was thinking with your scared boy, we had this girl who was a daughter of one of our cowboys. We were gone for a bit, I meet this little 11 yr old Tammy, she had taken this horse we never did anything to in say 2 weeks she had him kneeling, snuggling following everyone with no fear anymore, it went into the damn noisy coffee shack, it was like night and day. We all talked about it and argued because in my teen head I said all horses we use should be conditioned this way. It ended up my dad gave the horse to her and got boarding in Calgary he said she wrecked his horse even though she competed with that horse in the years after. My mums race horses were terrifying to me I never went close to them and felt the whole business was mean to make such serious horses. I would like to be educated on the limits etc.

Some horse are ready to be trained, others, not 🚭🚫 so much!! Things will get better!! I know, I have seen men and women, train wild horses and they are a handful!! But, they managed to get the job done!! These Clever Cowgirls are just the right ladies that can do it!!
