Heartland Horseshoeing School

Күн бұрын

Heartland's owner Chris Gregory gives a pro tip on pulling clips on a horseshoe. Chris, in his typical sense of humor, informs us that it is always quicker to pull TWO clips in just one heat, as opposed to just one clip per heat. Efficiency is key.
Stay tuned for MUCH more of Blacksmith Boot Camp 2022 coming this fall!

As a blacksmith, I find it amusing how many people are so enthralled with the simple act of forging the shoes, thinking that is the difficult part. Making or modifying shoes is the easy part of a farriers job... knowing what the shoes need to look like and dealing with a critter that weighs 10x what we do and has half the brains.... those are the real skills a farrier has. I can make shoes no problem... if a farrier shows me what he needs, I can probably forge them just as fast, but I have no clue how to go about getting them on a horse or how to size a set...
