How I failed at configuring the Cloud Management Gateway

In my ConfigMgr CMG VM Scale Set video, I made a couple of mistakes when configuring the Cloud Management Gateway.
When testing it out, it failed to connect to the CMG Service (.cloudapp.net)
Thanks to the Community (specifically @SCCMentor on Twitter) I figured out the issue and did this quick video explaining where I went wrong.

Really appreciate your efforts in making the IT admins aware that what could also go wrong while setting up the CMG. i was in search of some videos to understand the CMG vmss setup... Exellent piece of information.... Thankyou... Keep posting and sharing knowledge... Subscribed !!!!

Had same error on mine except I could not even build the CMG. Eventually got it working and then realized it was not connected. Glad to see you had same issue kind of. I was unsure whether or not I did the cert step correctly. That turned out to be a Proxy Issue. Now trying to figure out if this is working or not. I seemed to be able to deploy 7Zip from the CMG, but cannot connect to computers that say they are connected. Almost there. Look forward to next video to see what I should be testing and what this can do.

@@theCMC I seem to have a lot of red in my log files and was focusing on that more than the functionality of the CMG itself. I was able to push a small application to an endpoint on the CMG as well as Windows Updates that downloaded from Microsoft. Just toying around with what I can and cannot do with a client connected via CMG compared with a VPN/ Plugged in at office. So far I can run Scripts and run the console built in tools to force a Machine Polcy Refresh. The Recast Right Click Tools do not work, I cannot connect to the C:\ drive remotely, nor can i use Remote Tools. Not sure if I am supposed to or not. Thanks again for the video and the follow up. I look forward to the next video. Co-management is my next task.

Well done! RCT, Remote Tools and C:\ drive won't work without a VPN. CMG just handles the https comms so management info can be sent and received. Next video will be a few days away and will focus on deploying apps, managing config and reviewing the logs whilst we do that. Good look with co-management! pretty sure I did a video on that too ;-)

I'm working on an issue where i think it's a cert issue as well after upgrading to 2303. We bought a digicert cert for cloudcmg last year December i think. It was brought to our attention today because we don't manage client CMG per say, how ever after running the analyzer very first step we were getting an exclamation with an error close to "cloud management gateway error '4'" something to that affect. After going into patchmypc and seeing the old cert and comparing what is needed now with the name change after upgrading to 2303. Everything else passes on the analyzer after that. Has anyone upgraded to 2303 and experienced SMS_ConnectorService errors within componet statusand not conntecting to the CMG? Sorry for the typo's.
