if you are going to enter a cutting competition, why not use a more cut-focused sword? with the exception of one of the Albion long swords, the rest seem to taper extensively (in fact, it does as well, but it starts out wider). I would think something like a Migration Period type blade, a Cluny Falchion, or a Kilij type saber would be better suited.

never mind, i found the 2016 rules and it implies no sabers or falchions

Great video. Is there any chance you could let us know what swords are used in future videos?

Certainly! The commentators mention it in there somewhere but we can make that more prominent next time.

As a Martial Artist who has competed in weapons in the black belt division, at a state tournament and placed third in my division. Including, having trained as a knight with the Society for Creative Enacranism, training with a broadsword like the one shown in the video. I have never done footwork like the bearded guy in the first two minutes of this video is doing, when training as a knight for the SCA. Nor, have any of the other knights who trained me, ever attempted to do footwork like bearded guy, did in the first part of the video. While, beared guy, show potential he is still very green on his footwork and swordsmanship. He needs to work with experts in various weapons styles who can help him to improve both on his foot work, including swordsmanship. In reality, in a fight if he were doing the type of footwork and swordsmanship, that is seen in the video, it would be all over for him in two seconds. Why is beared guy looking down at his feet?, not good..., why is he stutter stepping to the point that he practically trips over himself and almost lands on his sword, definitely not good.., why is bearded guy not focusing his strikes and swinging his sword without purpose?, not good.. The second guy, Shaun's swordsmanship and footwork is better. Shaun is holding the sword in proper position, he is aware of where his feet are and never has to look down to adjust and his strikes have purpose, there is very little wasted energy going on.. R.J. did very well, but he needs to learn to gauge his distance, when he is closing in for a strike. He was a little to far back and this caused him to waste his strikes.. Wasted motion with a broadsword means you will tire out, much quicker.. Tim did very well, he gauged his footwork well, but not his strikes. He needs to work on gauging his strikes better and not wasting his strikes...
