What I love about your videos and especially this one is your honest craftsmanship. This is what real-world craftwork looks like. Rarely is everything perfectly metered or sparklingly on-target out of the gate. Experienced artists know how to scrounge, adapt, patch and improvise. And I think it's far more educational to depict an authentic process, than an idealized one. Watching small complications being solved by a masterful Crafsman is that much more rewarding.

Pigments mix subtractivily, so mixing equal parts red, green, and blue should give you the best result for making black. Edit: I stand corrected. The best way to get black is actually equal parts cyan, magenta and yellow. RGB will get black in a pinch, but it's not the best method. Thanks nagualdesign.

Love the compliments suggestion Craftsman. Today at the gas station I met a very young girl (nt 2nd or 3rd grade) who was excited and bragging/showing off her brand new gawdy loud hippie tie-dyed TeeShirt. So I smiled and told her it was so cool I would be proud wearing one like that and her french braid pigtails were awesome. ... So she stopped and looked me over. Then told me my shirt had buttons that she liked and that I was nice, then turned and left with her mom.... This young Miss. had learned the look for and find something you can honestly compliment lesson in life early. An awesome kid I hope to see again someday in this small town.

Crafsman, when you are trying to rastle that bolt outta that silicone mold, squirt a little bit of soapy water up in there and work it between the casting and the mold wall. It'll pop right out :)

With oil painting, using a limited pallete, blue and brown will get you a good black. I don’t know if that would translate with those pigments, however.

Mr. The Crafsman never disappoints with an episode. Just now going through his older stuff and it's awesome. What's funny is, I really don't care about crafting. That's how interesting he is. I'm here strictly for the entertainment value that he brings. The calmness of his voice, his positive attitude and the quality of work and care and dedication he has is why I'm here. Keep on.... Steady Craftin'!
