E56: Wrestling a Nomadic Kazakh - Never seen Westerner Before!

While in remote North Western China, Erik meets a local Kazakh who has never seen a white man before. To test Erik's fortitude he challenges him to a wrestling match... fortunately Erik used to wrestling in college... Meanwhile on the other side of the mountain range in Kyrgyzstan, Viv skins up 4,500m on a remote, never before skied glacier against the border of China... only a stones throw from Erik wrestling locals outside a ger.

Love the wrestling portion of this video! I was a wrestler from 5th grade on to senior year. Loved it! No better way to make a connection with a man, so good to see!

Cheers B! Was trying to get low but apparently in Mongolian wrestling you can grab the clothes which made it difficult to change your elevation!

+The Crew I really wanna kno not that it makes any difference but I been binge watching all ur trips for about 6 hours now lol,(china one with Josh was deff my favorite of ur guess trips but are u and Viv a couple? I just really wanna kno cuz I can't tell it seems like u could be but then could be u guys are just really close friends...

Hey Gary! Thanks for watching our videos, stoked you liked the series with Josh - he's such a great guy and we loved travelling with him. As you've already found out we're not a couple, just friends who work together! If you watch closely through out the episodes you can spot Erik's wife (there's a few farewells at airports!).

Erik if you needed to you could have whipped him. The guy was cheating by grabbing your pant leg, he really didn't want to lose.

In international diplomacy to loose is to win! (Also, I'm trained in Greco-Roman wrestling and apparently in Mongolian wrestling you can grab the clothes... I guess!)
