Tariq reminded Kanan of himself wen he was younger. I had a mentor that really fw me cuz of the same reason. I hustled my ass off and worked to get into a position and he said it reminded of himself. I was able to understand tariq and 50s point of view and it was pretty cool to see on screen

I see it it more as Kanan saw his younger self in Tariq. And from watching Raising Kanan, hes very much like Tariq. Kanan sees Tariq in himself, so when Juke threatened to kill Tariq, To kanan it was either he gets killed (Because He sees himself in Tariq) or Juke dies, so he had to save himself by killing juke. After killing Juke you can tell it hurt Kanan a lil just by the look on his face, he didnt want to do it but he really had no choice

I'm one of those fans that is heartbroken seeing the progression of what Jukebox and Kanan eventually become. This is a testament to the writing and their talent. To me Kanan in the end was still slightly young Kanan because he spared Tariq. In my mind young Jukebox suffers more because she was ruthless as an adult.

In that same conversation when they talk about how close they were, kanan said he felt betrayed when juke chose her worker over him after she stopped Kanan from hurting him after he said kanan looked like a burnt pork rhine. Any sign of disloyalty for kanan its a wrap.

Remember the last time Tariq had a one on one Convo with Jukebox? Back when she held him for ransom he asked her why they call her Jukebox. She answered when she was little she knew all the songs on the radio. She could imitate anybody. He replied, "were you good?" She responded, "I was better than good.....I was great." She was right about that. Young Juke on RK proved it. That final Juke episode alone set up the RK series whether they realized it or not. Like when Kanan told Tariq he was never good he wasn't RAISED that way.
