During the late 70s into 1980, I collected underground all over the Kelly District. The pyrite azurite malachite smithsonite and dogtooth calcite specimens were amazing. Spending weekends underground were some special times.

I love watching your videos. I'm the owner and president of snap shot mining and milling. Your miner that mines crystals I'm a hard rock miner that mines metals. Just wanted you to know that outside of a mine is called a waste dump and the stuff that goes through the mill it's called the tailings. Like I said I love your videos I've actually learned quite a bit on Precious gems and crystals thank you very much.

What a wonderful place to dig for crystals Bryan, the views you showed us are awesome!! It looks so peaceful and the treasures are all below the surface to br found. Matrix certainly enjoyed digging there lol and so did everyone else. The different colours of the crystals are beautiful but I saw a couple of pieces with a beautiful red on them and wonder what that is? I was thrilled when the mine owner said the large piece was smithsonite, which was lovely though I prefer the azurite and its beautiful blues. Terry came in and heard your voice and said to say hello from him and laughed when I showed him Matrix digging and then lying down. I was just in Magdelena today, after I went to the Mineral Museum at the NM Institue of Mining and Technology. They have great specimens from all over the world and loads from NM mines and huge pieces of Smithsonian! I will have to check out the Graphic mine location when it is warmer. Hope you got to eat at the Tumbleweeds Diner there, great food and lovely people.

VERY nice color. But that giant vug of smithsonite was off the chain! Good day there. I think the pyrite site needs some more exploration - reminds me of the dumps around Leadville, CO - if you dig around enough, you'd probably start to find larger colonies. Might be worth an extra day.
