Worked in retail for 11 years and when the lady that stocked the books would put new paper books out she would take the old ones to the compactor and tear the covers off them and throw them into the compactor - I asked her why ( and could they be donated or ? ) she said it was about copyright laws or something like that - not sure about the hard back books . I agree books should be donated or ? Or at least recycled .

I agree. I was raised in that you never waste anything. Books especially can be used for years. Why not donate to a school or Dolly Pardons literacy charity!!

Well said, that's what we do and we remelt them if there broke so many ideas with candles

Great Tip..using the same principle, I put my candle holders that get melted wax all over into the freezer. When the candles have burned down and ready to put in a new candle, put the holders in the freezer and when you remove them out of the freezer, the melted wax will come off very easily.
