That's "soft balling" a guest who is promoting and selling her own biographical book. She ends getting and giving very predictable known questions and premeditated answers. But i am absolutely convinced that she can stand her ground to defend her arguments with pride, personal conviction,intellectual insightfullness while using her laser sharp 100% unapollogetic nuance all the sensitive subjects she has experienced, highlighted and narrates in her own life experiences biography. She is not only broadly informed on Hollywood stealth racism still present in 2o18 in the multibillion dollar film industry but she also has a grasp in the current media news trending topics and content. She is also grounded in the pandemic Blacks lives threathening experiences in America and their unique day to day life struggles and most of all she is woke at the same time too....

I hope one day you give your heart to someone and they will hold it tight as if it's their own. am writing this short post as a testimony to the services I have been receiving from Mama in the past three years. I live in Eastern Cape, and I accidentally learned about Mama Anna’s website (well, if that was a coincidence at all). I will not go into very details about the spiritual work performed for me, however, I will be very happy if you find my testimony genuine and honest, as it is being written at this very moment with the same feel and intentions. Prior to contacting Mama Anna +27782391426 . I have literally wasted a lot of time on various readings, spells, all kinds of spiritual work, only to be left in tears after realizing that all the promises were just that promises, and my situation had not moved forward one inch. At that time, as I said, I learned about the website. I was hesitating, because I have worked with time wasters thus far, but being desperate as I was - I closed my eyes again and decided to give it a try. I must admit I did not like my first required reading from Mama Anna . This was because I have been told facts I did not want to hear. I thought that one particular detail mentioned on this occasion was way beyond possible. Despite the difficulty of my situation, Mama agreed to work on my case. Months later, after my spiritual prayer had been made, and the work was still ongoing, I found out about this single detail - imagine the shock and surprise - how could Mama ever know this? I have never mentioned it in my letters, I never hinted at it… This only made me believe and appreciate the way she works even more. I have used Mama Anna’s services for different areas of my life. Some were amazingly successful, some were less successful. I cannot stress enough the importance of keeping positive, despite the fact that things may not seem good on your end. Trust me Mama Anna would never accept to work on a case which she cannot improve. What’s more she will tell you that, straight up! You need to follow instructions by Mama Anna as easy as that (and trust me you can do it, it will take you 5 minutes of your time daily). and sought opinion from another 20 prior to contacting Mama - Mama Anna is the only real deal, the only ‘proper’ caster there is that can be found on the internet. Mind you, she is also available for meetings in person.Her spells indeed work. I promise you will see the difference very soon. Thank you Mama - my gratitude goes beyond any words. I wish you realize one day the impact of your emails, the feedback and suggestions. They are calming, yet inspiring, yet comforting - I dare say - lifesavers -when things seem really really bad. Keep believing. In case you also need solutions to your problems in life please feel free to call or Whatsapp Mama on +27782391426

Susan Johnson II This is no attack on you, because your comment was totally positive and supportive. But the fact that you had to qualify it as, "Black Barbie", fits right into what she is saying about being limited to characters the directors envision as "black". She can't be "regular" Barbie, she can only be "black" Barbie. Look at how people popped a blood vessel when they suggested Idris Elba as James Bond.

I cringed at this comment, as much as you meant it in a positive way. I actually feel like she would be quite insulted if she were ever referred to as a Barbie, an inanimate child's toy with no will, the epitomy of irrational female standard of beauty and typical stereotypical rule book of what a woman "should be like" that is coincidentally always portrayed as white. I don't think she would like to be refered to as a Barbie. I don't know why that would be a compliment to any woman. There's a documentary that goes into detail of the negative impact this has had on women and image. Google it, you should watch it.

A good friend of mine and I were pregnant at the same time. I'm Filipino/Scot-Irish and she is black. I remember having the conversation with her about the fear that she would be raising a young black male. Her son is two months younger than my daughter. They're 8 this year and they're both amazingly (frustratingly, lol) smart. It breaks my heart that he will have a different experience in society than my daughter, even though they deserve the same opportunities.

@Stormy Lan Let me just start by saying "Wow! Fucking Wow!".......for someone that has a MBA, you made some pretty dumbass "facts" or should I say assumptions. Racial profiling, racial injustice or any type of racism that black people face is NOT exclusive to under privileged blacks. Not because it never happened to your inner circle, does not in no way shape or form means it's not happening. Oprah Winfrey was racially profiled, so was Lebron James, Wanda Sykes, Chris Rock, Samuel Jackson, Regina King and so many more that has the economical status that you deem untouchable. So for you to make this atrocious comment because YOU never experienced those things, is downright stupid. Trying to discredit other people's experiences because you and yours never been through it smfh. Ain't this 'bout a bitch! Smfh. Black people like you irk my nerves! And this is coming from someone who also has a MBA and came from a well off family..........but yet I've faced racism! Hmmmm 🤔 maybe, just maybe your head is way up white people's ass that you're blinded by the happenings.

@Stormy Lan First, your post is riddled with all kinds of stereotypes and quite frankly, it's embarrassing. Secondly, if you are actually black, you may not have heard any one white call you the N-word, but it's a guarantee you have been called a (N-word), and it's delusional and extremely naive of you to think otherwise.

@Stormy Lan Sounds like you've been incredibly lucky. You do know that too many black people with higher incomes, professional careers (doctors , lawyers, scientists, athletes) and celebrities, AND Oprah have been profiled, harassed, beaten, and wholly mistreated? Maybe you've missed all the news and videos of all these horrific incidents. As wealthy and famous as they are, they were not immune. I guess even Oprah (after she was a billionaire) was not as lucky as you.
@darylwright2497
@darylwright2497 3 жыл бұрын
@Stormy Lan I see where you're coming from but that is your experience. Money does not stop you from being profiled. I live in a community of business professionals, professors and retired military. I was stopped one night while walking my dog because the officer "thought" I didn't belong there. My son was stopped while driving his mom's car because he was a young black male driving a luxury vehicle. Fortunately, his mom worked with the Juvenile Court and the officer knew who she was. Even Oprah went to buy a purse in a store and was profiled. Police don't see how much your worth or how many degrees you have. Yes, the likelihood of it happening in some neighborhoods are significantly less, but your child is not going to spend their life in that one place. They will have friends. They may want to venture into another part of town. Gabrielle certainly isn't hurting for money, yet she worries about that for her sons.

I have 'black faces on my mantle', in my mostly white family and it is terrifying to realize that these precious people (who I can't imagine living without) could be shot for nothing and die, for a mistake; in this country where we are supposed to be free and tolerant. And when she said that she "had to convince the person she was speaking to of her HUMANity", not just that she was a black actress, but a human, also. That stings so bad, because as a country, I thought that we were past this stage, of not being able to see minorities as even humans. Gabrielle is so awesome. If I wrote for Hollywood, I would write roles especially for her.

I love them both for what they do and not just the fact that they are Both Gorgeous Beauties (😏)..Uber Strong Sisters ❤❤.

I could listen to her every day. She is a good role model for our youth. "Magical Negro" Yes My daughter explained what she meant by that. Ive learned so much from my daughter who's mixed. She recognizes her privilege. We white people need to listen and not be defensive. When you chime in screaming about "you're tired of hearing how blacks are targeted and how you've also been harassed by cops" I can walk out of a store at 2am and start running without being shot, I can forget to use my blinker and not end up dead at the police station, and yes it's because I'm white Please know that racism isn't so obvious IMO we need to learn and check ourselves if we have to. The way she spoke about rape saying "my soul being patched together" Is a very important point. Without therapy it's torture a never ending nightmare. Rape is something that should be open conversations I'll be ordering this book and also get one for my daughters. Trevor thank you for always getting the most interesting open minded guest

"The more I hesitate the more black bodies mount up"... Jesus. Thank you for taking up this gauntlet, you are a hero for speaking out so candidly like this. Truly, thank you. I was ignorantly racist, meaning I thought I wasn't but I was clueless as to what racism really was, for the majority of my life. Now I am in recovery and as I dedicate every ounce of me to squashing this, I acknowledge that it is woven into the very fabric of who I am.... My husband... my babies... the people I love more than I could ever love myself... they will experience racism that I cannot block. So I thank you... I thank you for using your position to be the change.

@shurednichso Not necessarily. I am white but people think I am in my early 20s (last month a guy thought I was 18).... I am 36 years old. Live a healthy lifestyle, good genes and certain facial features can make you look younger...like an oval face or a bunny nose. In my case I've got dimples as well. But most of all.... if you feel young you look young. Be happy social and enjoy life....only old people sit around wining about life and don't do things.... live. Age is a number on your passport. If you live like you are 20...look like you are 20...feel like you are 20...what the hell does 36 mean?.... nothing. I haven't changed all that much from when I actually was 20...well on the outside...on the inside its like day and night...I don't take shit from anyone now that I am 36. Only downside is my lovelife.... I attract young guys or guys my age looking for little girls with daddy issues.

Feel like she’s making a bigger deal of being “a black woman” than most of America. If people stop constantly talking about racism it’ll go away. She talks about some filmmakers not wanting her in their films, it’s a country with civil rights. People have a right to refuse to do business with you, you’re not special if your black/gay/ethnic, your just another citizen in this country of opportunities, we all have equal rights.

First of all this comment will be in two parts. First Trevor Noah is not only brilliant but so are the people that put him in his position. Even I know it is a collaborative effort that the daily show prized of writers and directors in all kinds of other people put the whole thing together and Trevor Noah is the voice of that collaboration. I admire him not just the median, but also is a person who has endured some real hardships in his life and was willing to share them with us. I don't care about the colour of his skin I wouldn't even care if he had green and red stripes. The only thing that turns me on about anybody is the fact that they are intelligent and has a sense of humor. The more intelligent and seemingly the more down to earth at the same time the more I admire people like this. The fact is that he is also humble in many ways shows us that he is a true human being. Part B it doesn't matter that the woman is plugging her book because that's one of the reasons why she was on the show. I am lucky that I can read 2400 words a minute with 90% recall because I can read books at insanely fast speeds. Just as Trevor Noah spoke shares with us the truth about his life, so does this book of the woman on the show. People fail to realize especially people like me who are white, that Blacks will always have a hard time even if they are accepted by the mass. One of my best friends in the states is black. He a doctor and is well respected in his field; however he came to my house for a visit in Canada (we drove in Separate cars) and I noticed that he was almost driven off the road a few times by white ass holes in pickup trucks. We all know these types of people are with their stupid southern banners and the gun rack in their windows. I can't believe morons like this still exist. It's disgusting and it should be outlawed. Later I told my friend that I'm really sorry for this and he told me it is not my fault I'm not like this is just some people always ruin it for the mass. I can't imagine what it is like to be a woman because I'm a man but I know women have it hard in many many ways in life but to be a black woman on top of it all is got to be 20 times harder. It does not really matter how good you are because you are tainted by the colour of your skin in the eyes of others. It is still very sad that we have come such a long way in the last hundred years and in some ways we have not moved forward at all. I wish that I could see one day in my lifetime, a place where we are truly all equal. Men, Women and colour! LesThehandymnan.com

I wish they would cooperate a bit more so that we get _-at a bare minimum-_ one of their shows every week (ideally 2-3 every week) except for the major American holidays. A simple rotating 4 week cycle would do this. For the major American holidays, Thanskgiving & Christmas/New Year's, just pause for a week. Even accounting for illness and unexpected situations, this would give us 2-3 high quality, great political comedy shows 50 weeks a year. wk1 - Trevor, Seth, Colbert (John O. is off) wk2 - Seth, Colbert, John O. (Trevor is off) wk3 - Colbert, John O., Trevor (Seth is off) wk4 - John 0., Trevor, Seth (Colbert is off) Samantha Bee should probably be in this list also, and that would bump it up to 3-4 political comedy shows each week. That said, as much as I loved her on John Stewart's Daily Show, I've never enjoyed her show :-( But I know others do enjoy her show, so she really should be included. wk1 - Trevor, Seth, Colbert (John O. and Samantha are off) wk2 - Seth, Colbert, John O., Samantha (Trevor is off) wk3 - Colbert, John O., Samantha, Trevor (Seth is off) wk4 - John 0., Samantha, Trevor, Seth (Colbert is off)
