once again, my wife correctly predicted who would be for the steamer vs who would be for the iron. we have both, but haven’t used the iron since we got the steamer. it’s so convenient. an iron needs another tool (a board) to be optimally functional. a steamer is a self-contained tool. also, i looked it up, and apparently garment steamers have been around for a very long time and pre-date the steam function on the iron, so dulce was right! love this show my wife and i look forward to hearing “our friends” talk every week ❤ keep em comin!

I ironed clothes regularly until my mid-20's, now I'm team: "take my clothes out of the dryer and hang them up IMMEDIATELY to prevent wrinkles" and "spray with wrinkle releaser and throw in the dryer if necessary"😆

Irons have so many settings because there are so many ways to mess up your clothes with them. Water stains, the random squirt of water, the potential of burning yourself. Steamers are sooooo much easier to use

I'm laughing at you talk about original irons. I have one from my grandma. It's literally a heavy piece of iron with handle that you would put in fire to heat it up. It's tiny but has to weigh at least 5 pounds. I keep it next to bed on floor for safety 🤣😂🤣🤣

I'm team irons because of the multifunction. HOWEVER I've been burned by both, but only have a scar on my forearm from the Steamer, So the argument of steamers being safer is non factual. 😂 PS LOVE these little pointless debates 🥰 🤗

Ima let ya’ll finish, but Dulce took a break to preach a whole sermon at 4:50. I didn’t even completely realize I’ve been doing this for 25 years. This week, I was in a work meeting in the conference room with a WM software engineer in his early 40’s who makes at least 180K annually. He was wearing high water baggy jeans, white tube socks, and “bo- bo’s” on his feet. He does not GAF how he looks and yet I was almost late to the same meeting ironing a crease in my slacks, putting on scented body butter, and gargling with mouthwash FOR WHO??? For us. Mind blown. 🤯

I have never owned a steamer. When I saw this topic I didn't immediately make the connection what it's about I am so far removed from steamers. However, I do not like ironing. It was one of my chores when I was a kid. It's a necessary tool when you are sewing so I own an iron. I tend to buy clothes that never require ironing so I do not have to iron them. When My clothes get wrinkled I would rather hang them up and wait it out. I think a steamer could change my life.

Dulce struggled to find a rationale for steamers through the first 10 minutes of this clip, in contrast to Josh's succinct and reasoned argument for irons, but then she stunned him with being in "detention" and a potential "hostage situation."

This is perfect timing. I just bought a steamer because my iron can’t do a very delicate fabric- and my friends rave about a steamer. Both of my parents were tailors and they had both. But if you don’t have a proper ironing board or a flat surface- idk!!!

I use an iron on paper that got wet to flatten it so it's not all wrinkly.. a steamer wouldn't help me in that situation. Also flat irons can be used to straighten hair, steam just turns my hair into a giant frizzy mess.

My take away from this hilarious segment is that steamers are better for more delicate fabrics and irons are better for fabrics like jeans and cotton. When she said they're in every costume house and he said they're in every hotel! Bam! Touche Josh I'd have to go with the steamer for a time and safety because I'm the type that leaves things on and walks away. I've burned so many pots on electric stoves.

How are you starching anything using a steamer? How are you getting your creases right? And, to be fair, you should only use distilled water in whatever machine you're putting water into--iron, steamer, car radiator...whatever. Dulce actually made an argument FOR irons when she told the story about her dress on Emmy night. Also, does she think steamers were around before steam irons??

Yeah I had to look up what a steamer look like definitely never seen those so it looks like you just hanging and then you just do it as you would do the same like an iron but instead of on the iron board you can hang it up but honestly I still think irons are easier to use less complicated
